Mommy had another stars party and lots of people came and petted me. I think she thinks we are the stars. I was really tired and had to take a nap when the people sat down to eat their dinners on our deck.
Yum! Misty and I got to taste some goodies like melon, fish and Mommy gave me a piece of cheese! Everyone was really nice to us and even knew our names, but most people already knew me cause I have this blog.
Mommy stayed up late with us after the people went home. We played and played and Auntie Christine stayed over night with her Aussie Bailey. I love them.
I was really, really tired and so were Toby, Misty and Juno. We had a good time and I think Mommy will have ‘nother party next year.
Bye for now and thank you for coming to our party!

Mommy brought home 3 old dogs and named them Papi, Noni and Tia. They came from a shelter just like me! Everybody here came from the shelter and none of us liked it there, but it sure seems to be a good place to find friends cause everytime Mommy goes there, we get more friends. Anyway, you can see when she got ‘em if you want ’cause we made a video. (It’s sort of noisy).
Papi, Noni and Tia were stinky and their hair was a mess, then Mommy took them to the beauty parlor and they came back smelling nice!
They were really sick, just like I was when I was a baby…mommy calls it namonya, and she gives them medicine. I was just a baby when I had namonya, I went to the hospital twice, and mommy was really, really scared. She told me about it cuz I don’t remember.
Tia got ‘dopted a few days ago. Jan is a really nice lady who visited and petted us, but she really loved Tia so she took her home.
Papi and Noni used to just sleep all the time, but now they feel good and don’t cough anymore. Noni plays with Libby, Avi and me a lot. She’s funny cause she likes toys and jumps around when she plays with us even tho she’s old like a grandma!
Papi likes to eat and he follows Mommy everywhere…he has pretty eyes like Noni. I think Papi is Noni’s brother. Just like Wyatt is my brother. We all like Papi and Noni cause they never make trouble and are always happy now.
I’m happy they are all better now and don’t have namonya anymore. Maybe they will get ‘dopted like Tia did.
Bye now, gotta go find Avi and Remmy.

Mommy said, “Well it’s time to take you hoodlums out for some fun.” which is always a good thing cause she makes sure we have things to do besides sleep, and she says it helps the new dogs to have ’speriences.’ I don’t know what speriences are, but she put us in the van and took us to play in the snow today! As soon as I saw the snow on the road, I yelped, “yippee, yippee, yippee!!!” in the van…so did Buddy! Mom says we crack her up but I dont’ see any cracks on her.

Wow, the snow is my favorite. There is so much of it, I got buried up to my nose! Buddy barks and barks and loves the snow so much…but not as much as me! We like to run really, really fast, and sometimes we run right to Mommy and she always screams, “Don’t run me over!” but we never do…we like to pretend that we will! (unless we are sliding, which is pretty fun too and she always laughs so I dont’ worry about it)
I like to lie in the fluffy white snow that sticks to my nose and face…I wonder if Mommy can see me? She throws snow balls for us and I can catch them better than Buddy or Wyatt!
If you want to come play with us, just call my Mommy…she loves the snow too!

Mommy put pretty lights in our house and around our deck and on the new house that Dave is building for doggies who stay with us. She also puts stuff in the oven and then takes it out and we get yummy cookies. Mom, you should make a book of the stuff you cook us so you dont’ forget. Then you could look at it and remember to make me cookies.
The puppies are fun…. they don’t pull very hard when we play tug o war, but it’s fun anyway. Max, Morgan and Bandy like to chase me around the Sanctuary and they run really fast, but guess what, not as fast as me!
Come visit us. You can play tug o war with me and the puppies and if you go by the fence you can smell the deer that came last night and we can take naps and eat cookies and if you like to swim I have a pool, there’s lots to do. And Mom is always busy too.
Gotta go now, Mommy is taking something out of the oven that smells good!

Today I played with the puppies all day. They are really little and silly. They bite mom’s pants and shoes and she laughs…… but she can’t move cause they sort of trap her. They try to chase me but they are really slow so we played tug of war and stuff. I don’t know why they can catch mom, she’s not that slow. I played with them on the porch til we all fell asleep. Megan’s still more fun to play with. She tries to trick me by hiding and jumping on me but I know she’s there, I just know things but Megan doesn’t know I do. Sometimes I try to act surprised.
Hey, my friend Lisa sent me this picture of her and me. It’s from the party. I think we both look really pretty. Mom says so.
I like to take pictures with my friends. Do you have one of me?

So today Mom took us on an adventure. I love this place! It’s a windy trail next to a river and I get to go swimming. I went in and Wyatt jumped in after me, only he couldn’t get out so mommy had to pull him out. She got all dirty and Wyatt looked unhappy. He was barrassd. I didn’t care, I just ran and ran until Wyatt started chasing me again. I think it made him feel better. Everyone had fun and we went home and took a nap. Then Megan wanted to play, so I played tug of war with the play squirrel with her. She doesn’t pull very hard, but I let her win. She loves to dance around with the play squirrel in her mouth…she’s funny!
Then mommy left some dogs at the vet (morgan and maggie got some tutoring at the vet’s) and drove the rest of us to a place where we get to run in the woods. Everybody chased me, but no one could catch me! Kona, Noellie, Buddy, Missy, Edgar, Wyatt, Spike, Rex, and Sammy girl all came. Rex is the loudest…he loves to bark cause he’s so happy and maybe cause he’s not fast anymore. Ed stayed close to Mommy cause he doesn’t want to get run over. We met a lady with a Border Collie, like me, and she was really nice… she pet everyone and said I was a good girl. I think she petted me the most.
Mommy is still working on the ‘puter - I hope I have another adventure tomorrow but right now, I’m too tired. Sometimes, when I sleep, I get to run and chase all over again.
you could come with us next time…

Everyone came to play with me last Saturday. All my friends, well not all my dog friends, and these friends don’t play chase so good… Anyway, it was lots of fun! Mom looked so pretty, she got all dressed up, so I didn’t jump on her. I helped everyone look all around the cement where the new kennels are going to be and I helped Jeanne go back and forth to the kitchen to get food to give everyone on a shiny plate. Everyone was having so much fun I thought it might be my birthday! But it wasn’t yet I guess cause there was no cake. (Mom, when’s my birthday???)
One of my friends took some pictures. I know Mom is going to put some on her site but I wanted to put some in my blog too. This one is everyone trying ‘Flying Aussies’ wine (my friend Chloe and her brother Winston are on the picture on the bottle playing frisbee) but you can’t see them in this picture.
I don’t see any dog bowls, but I think the deck looked really pretty anyway. The gate was closed so I didnt’ get to taste anything.
Mom was really happy that lots of our friends came who help us make a home here. I was reallly sad when they went home but I was pretty tired. I think everyone who came understood that I love them. I tried to make sure they knew. And this is me having a little massage after all the hard work. Come back soon and see the new kennels and maybe I can play chase for you and you can meet new friends of mine cause there are always lots of dogs here that just got out of the shelter. I’m teaching them all about love, and my Mom helps too.
Love, Dollie
Whew! We had a pretty exciting week. There was a hissy thing under the deck. Dave killed it. I love Dave. Dave is pounding wood together and making a new house for dogs. Mom and her friend drew dog names in the wet grey stuff, but they wouldn’t let me walk on it til it dried. Anyway, I think it’s a silly house cause I can walk right through the walls. Mom calls it ‘framing.’
Anyway, I wanted to tell you about the hissy thing. It bit Megan. She was just playing and I don’t think she can hear very good cause when I bark at her when she jumps on me she doesn’t care. I like Megan. She’s fun. So she started to cry and Mom told Dave to kill the hissy thing and she jumped into the car with Megan and none of us got to go. Mom was wearing clothes that smelled like yesterday. It was funny. She usually smells like soap.
Megan was gone for days and days and when she came back she smelled like the vet. The vet is my friend. I stayed with them for a long time when I was a puppy too. Megan is still a little sleepy but the rest of the time she is fun to play with and jumping on me.
Thanks Mom. I sort of have Mom wrapped around my paw, but don’t tell her, she takes me to training and I have a bachelor of puppyhood. They only give that to smart dogs.
I love living at the Sanctuary. It’s got so much more room than where we used to live. And I get some time in my pool by myself, even though there are lots of dogs visiting us all the time.
Mom let’s them visit us til we find them homes. Sometimes they are sick when they come to visit. Sometimes they are dirty. I let Mom fix that. But sometimes they are just lonely or sad, and I help with that. I get them to play and be my new best friend. I have lots of friends.
Come visit us!
From Kim:
Dolly was bugging me for a dog blog. What do you so when your bright sweet border collie-aussie mix just keeps asking for a dog blog? She sees me working on the Aussie Rescue web site day and night I guess and she’s always been a bit of an ambassador. Thank god she can type.
So here ya go Dollie, have fun.
