LANA NCAR #
This little 7 pound girl came into the Shafter shelter pregnant and sickly. She is now healthy and spayed and so much fun!
Lana is a cuddle-bug! She loves everyone and snuggles up right next to whomever is next to her...be it person or dog! She loves to sleep curled up against me and sometimes stays under the covers. She likes car rides and going on hikes. She gets along with cats and likes children. She also gets along with all the dogs at the Sanctuary. This is a darling little girl. Fostered in Grass Valley.

Mr. Magoo
Mr. Magoo is a neutered male, approximately 6 year old Chihuahua. At about 4 lbs, he is truly a "go anywhere" dog and absolutely adorable. Magoo gets along great with the small dogs in his foster home but likes to keep his distance from the bigger ones. Overall though he gets around great and can assert himself when necessary. Magoo enjoys going for daily walks and also enjoys trips to the dog park, provided there is a small dog only area.
He bonds very quickly and very strongly. Whenever his foster mom leaves the house he will wait right by the door until she gets back. Magoo is housebroken, kennels easily and is very good natured around people. He loves to be held, and will perch himself on your arm if given the chance. Magoo would do best in a home without small children or large dogs and would prefer an easy-going household with another small dog as a companion. Not sure how he is around cats yet. He is neutered, up to date on shots, and microchipped. Fostered in Davis.

Ben: Independent, Active Senior Looking for the Same!
Ben is a 13 year old terrier mix who found himself in a rural county shelter when his owner became ill. The EMT brought him in and no family or friends have stepped forward to help the old boy.
Ben enjoys the simple things in life . . a walk, stopping to smell the “roses”, good food and special treats, and warm blanket to snuggle on. Ben is a sweet old boy. He is a little hard of hearing and his vision isn't what it used to be but he is still full of enthusiasm, happy and content.

Badger
Meet Badger folks! This little guy is 110% Jack Russell. He’s 6 years old and he is really in need of a loving home. He and his playmate, Dove, were turned into the shelter by their owner. Now Badger sits confused, waiting for someone to rescue him.
Badger doesn’t have just a pretty face, he’s a sweetheart. He’s a busy guy with energy to spare. His mom told me that he LOVES to go for walks and you just about can’t wear him out. Badger has a lot to offer his new family. He’s crate trained, an experienced Go to Ground competitor, walks great on the leash, and is just a fun guy to be around. Badger has spent most of his life living outside so he won’t mind if you give him a nice warm dog house out back as long as you love him and spend time with him. And he sure wouldn't mind his little playmate, Dove to go with with him either!
Badger would do best in a home without other males dogs. He’s a macho little guy and prefers to be the only king of the house.
