Stormy
Stormy is a 5 1/2 month old 23lb Aussie Pup with a cute little docked tail. She is outgoing, playful, great with other dogs and cats, and this little girl loves to jump up onto things, she may be a great little agility dog. She is crate trained, but not completely housetrained yet. Stormy loves kids, and has not shown strong herding instincts yet but I would recommend children over 8. She is fostered in the Salinas area. If you are interested in meeting Stormy please email: dlmccraw@sbcglobal.net

Bella NCAR#383

Bella & Marcella
Hey Kim,
I just wanted to give you a little update on Bella! She is doing wonderfully and is such a joy. Bella and the cats are finding common ground. The eldest cat will come out and walk around and sniff Bella. Bella usually just looks the other way and pretends that horrible monster is no where near her. The little kitty is getting braver and will even come out from under the bed, especially for food! Bella is adjusting well and follows me everywhere. She is calm and happy being an inside lazy-bum. My co-workers love her and get angry when i dont bring her into work. Everyone agrees that she should become a therapy dog! I contacted the Delta Society and i need to own her a little longer before i start their program. So while we wait, Bella and I are attending our first training class this saturday and she is visiting Dr. True next wednesday! Bella and Ray (my cousin) get along wonderfully and he has convinced her to visit his room a lot so the cats wont! I am so happy with Bella and could not imagine life without her. Thank you so much!
Marcella

Bella is blue merle girl who was picked up as a stray by the Tehama County Shelter in Red Bluff. The very next day, she gave birth to one puppy! She and her little pup needed to be rescued....so we brought them both to the Sanctuary in Grass Valley. Puppy "Luna" has been adopted by a wonderful family, now it's Bella's turn.

Bella is extremely people oriented, totally trustworthy around everyone...even a uniformed man! She' s quiet, easy-going, likes car rides and quite agile. She wants to be with her person. She's about 36 lbs and just adorable...we're trying to get her up to about 43 pounds. The vet estimates she's 5-6 years old. We had her teeth cleaned when she was spayed.

Brody NCAR# 380

Brody is a small, friendly black tri who was adopted from the Penninsula Humane Society five years ago with Bentley (adopted) This boy is about 7 and is about 44 lbs. He's very loving and gave me kisses within 5 minutes of meeting me! He is gentle with children, can live with cats and receives hugs from complete strangers.....a nice trait! He was really friendly to everyone at the vet's office, including the technicians who gave him two shots! This boy loves strangers and greets them nicely.

Brody lived in a home for 5 years where his owner were gone 9-11 hours a day, and both boys became bored and broke out of their back yard too many times. Brody is staying close to me, and really does well on off leash walks, so I don't think he'll want to leave a home where people can spend time with him and keep him inside when they are gone. This is a really, really nice boy. Fostered in Grass Valley. Contact Kim at kim@norcalaussierescue.com

***ADOPTED 8/20***
Madison ID: TCAC083091
Madison is a 1 year 7 month old female australian shepherd. The notes on her surrender documents state that she is very good with kids (allowing ear pulling, and general crawling on) and that she is a natural herder. The reason given for surrender was that she was fighting with her sibling. We don't know if it was a sister...maybe she would like a boy dog better? Madison is very pretty, and would love a forever home. If you would like more information about Madison, please have her ID number available, and contact the shelter. This pet is up to date with routine shots.

They got their first booster shots and exam on 8/6 - the vet gave them a clean bill of health. They love exploring the Sanctuary, have played in the sprinkler, and with bubbles that I blew for them! They are good little pups who are calm when held and play well with each other.

Kiska NCAR#377

Kiska is a perfectly charming, 8 year old black tri. Her temperament is sweet, affectionate, smart and tolerant. She also loves to fetch a tennis ball! She's down to 59 pounds from about 82, and is doing great! Her former owner over fed her miserably. And her coat is gorgeous and thankfully, she loves to be brushed!

Kiska knows sit, stay, come, drop the ball, wait and no. She plays well with the young boys and can now keep up with them! In fact, she often starts the chase! She loves car rides, and doesn't need a boost to get into the van anymore! She has lived with children, dogs and cats, but can easily be an only dog. She's a beautiful, happy girl who smiles! Her gorgeous and thick coat needs regular grooming and that's a small price to pay for this super Aussie. Fostered in Grass Valley. Contact: Kim at kim@norcalaussierescue.com

Bob NCAR# XXX
Bob is a 6 year old neutered male Australian Shepherd (born 5/01) who came to Best Friends in Utah after losing his home during Hurricane Katrina (he went through treatment of heartworm and is doing just fine). Bob was adopted but the owner was forced to give him up due to her own failing health. Bob is fine with other dogs, older kids, a little shy, housetrained, and just such a sweet guy looking for his forever home! On volunteer sleepovers "Bob is very sweet, mild-mannered, calm, gentle, smart, enjoys walks on lead, fine on car rides, a little shy and anxious with handling so absolutely no small kids, is housetrained--just an amazing dog!" Bob lived with an 11 year old girl whom he adored. Bob has his long, fluffy tail and is carrying an extra 8 or so pounds! Contact: Kim at kim@norcalaussierescue.com
