SCARLETT NCAR #1173
Scarlett was a breeding dog who got picked up by Sutter County Animal Control. Her owner decided not to pay the fees to pull her, so we rescued this fun little red tri girl! She's 7 years old, only about 30 pounds and her coat is coming in after having a litter a few months ago. She's happiest by my side, but is fine with other dogs. She knows some tricks and comes when called. She'll be spayed in early November, but folks can meet her now. Fostered in Grass Valley.

SHEP NCAR #1162
Shep lives with his sister Ka'Pua in Dutch Flat. His new name is KAI and he's LOVING LIFE!

Shep did not have ear surgery today, 9/24 because the vet detected a heart murmur and wants a cardiologist to do an echocardiogram.

We took Shep from City of Berkeleyin late May after his owners brought him to an emergency hospital to be euthanised due to his vestibular disease. Owners were told his disease could be treated, but they declined treatment.

Shep is 8 or 9 and has suffered from middle ear infections for years which finally caused a vestibular attack (severe head tilt and mobility difficulties)
We've given him many rounds of treatments, had him neutered and so far, have spent $5,000 on his medical care.

He will have a echocardiogram ($1,000-$1,300) on October 22, and if his heart is healthy, he'll have ear surgery($900 - $1,200) in early November.

HAZEL NCAR #
Hazel is a 53 pound red merle with her tail. Hazel was found tied to the front doors of a shelter - no microchip, no collar, seemed well fed but her coat was severely matted. She spent 10 days in the shelter and became too afraid of new people and would hide in the back corner of her kennel. Staff determined she could not be shown and needed rescue.

She showed me she likes to be where I am, likes to play with other dogs and loves to play fetch. We guess her to be 3-4 years of age. She'll be spayed soon and available end of August.
