McKenzie NCAR #476
Kenzie lives with Bonnie in Rocklin where she can swim anytime she wants, will travel with Bonnie in her motor home, AND has a creek behind her house. That makes McKenzie really happy!
McKenzie is a charming, athletic 3 year old blue merle whose owners had a baby and due to changes in their life, asked us to find her a home where she'd get more attention.
She's very, very athletic, loves to fetch anything and has a vibrant personality. She LOVES....we mean LOVES the water and is a very fast swimmer! She's awesome at Frisbee and fetching anything from sticks to balls to toys.
She injured her foot in June, so her jumping should be be substituted with swimming! That would suit her just fine! She can fetch tennis balls in a pool or lake for as long as she wants!
The perfect home for McKenzie would be with a person who will do lots of fun activities like swimming or Rally or non jumping agility with her. Kenzie is an excellent traveller and likes hanging in the van. She also can be mellow in the house......she's not hyper at all. She's do best as an only dog but could live with an easy going male Aussie.
She will nip at roller bladers, skate boarders and will chase and bark at a bird in the sky until it's out of sight. This girl has drive and spunk! Doubtful an urban environment would work for her.

Billy
Billy is an endearing young guy, an 8 mo. old neutered Border Collie, Kelpie, Queensland Heeler mix. That means he is smart and busy and a challenge!!
His first few months of life were lived outside with another old dog, where he had little interaction with his owners. He missed those early formative weeks learning basic skills in how to be a polite puppy. Fortunately the owners realized it was not the right situation for them or Billy, so willingly gave him up.
Hes adorable, very bright and snuggly. Hes living with his foster mom and several dogs, where hes loving his clicker training learning basic skills. Hes very much a pup, still chewing, still testing the boundaries. But considering he had a late start in learning the rules of the world for puppies, hes doing well. His personality is delightful, upbeat and happy. He absolutely loves playing with the dogs, retrieving tennis balls and dropping them (!), rough housing with the younger dogs. He is curious and respectful of the cats.
His ideal forever home will be with someone familiar with Border Collies or Kelpies and the wiles of active herding puppies, willing to guide Billy through puppyhood. He will need a kind, savvy dog owner with lots of patience and firm boundaries. His continued training will be necessary. As he is an active boy, hell need lots of chew toys and bones to keep him chewing on appropriate items. It will be very important for him to have another playful dog companion to keep him company. Right now because hes still very much a puppy, hes not a good match for young children, but as he matures, and with lots of patience and love, he will mature into a terrific family dog..
Along with his adoption come two free dog training clicker sessions if Billy remains in the Grass Valley area.

Boris NCAR # 376
Jill & Dan love Boris gentle and laid back demeanor, and the feeling is mutual! Bori lives in Nevada City where he has 5 fenced acres to explore and a sliding door thats always open to his new home...perfect!
Boris (Borie for short) is probably an Aussie-Spaniel-Lab mix and weighs around 60 lbs. He's 5 years old, very friendly, responsive and attentive with people. He is good off leash, too! He isn't fond of dominant, intact male dogs, but does fine with easy-going female and neutered male dogs.
Borie wants to hang out either inside our out and is happy to be near his person. He's fine in the house and in the car. He is obedient, loving and will make a wonderful companion. We have seen he's afraid of toddlers and will hide....so kids over 12 are fine. He sleeps right next to the bed and likes being indoors as well as outdoors. In warm weather, he often sleeps on his bed on our deck off the bedroom. He's pretty easy on a leash and all in all, a very "undemanding" dog. He can be placed with another dog, but would love to be a one and only Fostered in Grass Valley.

Aiden NCAR #545
Sharyl fell for Aiden even before meeting him! This sweet boy lives in Sacramento with an Aussie sister and Aussie mom (senior girl) and go lots of places with his new family.
A kind gentleman found Aiden by the side of a country road in Corning . For two days, he drove past the spot and Aiden was always thereno nearby houses or buildings. So he took Aiden home and did his best to find his owner. After 3 weeks of searching and notifying shelters, he came to the sad conclusion that someone abandoned him and he called us for help.
Ive named him Aiden , which is an Irish name meaning Little Fire. Jan, his foster mom LOVES him. She says he's soft, quick to learn, easy on a leash and just adorable. He weighs only 31 pounds and will probably grow up to be a small boy at maybe 40 pounds. Aiden is about 10 months old and is being fostered in Orland.
