Eli NCAR #806
Eli turned 4 years old on February 8, 2012. He was surrendered to us because he chased cattle on his owner's unfenced ranch where she was a care-taker.

Eli is a 57 pound, loving red merle with ice blue eyes. He's lived with young children, an indoor and outdoor cat, loves car rides, loves playing with balls, and chewing dog bones. He likes all people and visitors, and barks and whines if he sees me and can't get to me, which often is part of being "Velcro."

He chases cars and cows if allowed to be off leash around them. This is a sweet, loyal boy!

Fostered in Grass Valley. Contact: Kim at kim@norcalaussierescue.com

Sheba NCAR #805
Sheba is a gorgeous, 6 year old, blue-eyed blue merle who wasn't getting enough attention and exercise in her home. She's very friendly with all people, plays hard with dogs and seems to be a fun, all around Aussie girl!

If left alone in a yard all day, she'll find things to do and sometimes gets destructive! She is intolerant of children under 12...nips them like she wants them to go away or control them.
She's a fun companion girl, likes to play fetch, likes fluffy toys and plays really well with young Marley. She was a complete angel at the vet.

HANNAH
Hanna turned 9 years young on November 14, 2011. She's a red tri bred by Woodstock Aussies. She's 49 pounds, is in excellent shape, crate trained and has had both obedience and agility training. She has a few titles from CPE and Nadac, and has been herding instinct tested on sheep 3 times and loved it. She loves to go hiking and swimming in lakes She knows: Sit, stay down, come leave it, Go kennel, outside, and chases a ball or Frisbee till she drops! Hannah loves children of all ages and was raised in a home that does daycare - she loves attention from children.

Hannah has always been the alpha since about 1 year of age and has tried to let the other dogs in her home know it every chance she gets. For the most part they have lived together ok but occasionally she will pick a fight with any of the other dogs over objects. The last several months the fights have escalated and her owner knows that Hannah should be an only dog and asked us to help rehome her. Hannah has a happy attitude and goofy personality when she is by herself with her people. She would do well with someone who likes agility, or wants a well trained, activity partner. No cats. Hannah is in Rescue, CA. Application required.

Guinness NCAR #752
Guinness and Ed live in Auburn and will have plenty of adventures together. Guinness is Eds new sidekick and will get tons of exercise, Frisbee playing and love.

Guiness is a 5 year old North American Miniature Aussie Shepherd who weighs 30 pounds. He graduated from obedience class at 6 months of age and knows: Sit, down, wait, roll over, shake, go get your ball (or toy), bed, outside, come. He's amazing at fetch with ball, Frisbee, or a stick. He lives with cats, but will give chase from time to time. He'll also chase kids, nipping at their heels (if unleashed).

He's active, housebroken, smart, sleeps on a dog bed in living room or owners room. He loves strangers, wants to be petted by them especially children. He loves all children and this is when he gets the most excited. Can nip at them while licking because of over excitement. He's great on a leash but will pull if he gets excited about children approaching.

The irony is that he should not live in a home with children because he can guard his space, food or person and actually nipped the owners once. He also doesn't like to be restrained or forced into doing things - he complies with consistency and voice commands.HIs owners who bought him as a puppy were expecting their first child, and felt that Guinness should be in an adult only home. This is a good, smart boy overall and terrific at Frisbee! No cats. Fostered in Grass Valley.

She loves children, walks ok on leash and has lived with a cat. She doesn't like fireworks and loud noises, as common with Aussies.

Scout likes to play fetch but doesn't bring the ball back, likes to go for runs or car rides with her person. She's loving, cute and happy. Scout is near Santa Cruz. Application required.

***OWNER IS KEEPING SCOUT***
Maggie
Maggie is a 7 year old black tri whose owner died. She went everywhere with her owner, was very loyal and slightly protective of her. She lightly nipped two people who came near her owner - but never broke skin. Because of this, a quiet, adult home would be best for Maggie. She's had some training, excellent vet care and is friendly towards dogs. She did not have much contact with children. She likes leash walks and being petted. Maggie is near San Mateo. Application required.

DANNY
Danny is an 18-24 month old Border Collie mix. We acquired Danny when a friend of ours passed away suddenly. He is neutered, chipped, and up to date on all meds, including heartworm and flea/tick. He has some basic training and everything I have taught him he has either responded to or picked up very swings up most of the time. He has light weight feathers on his haunches that have grown in more since we have had him. He is eager to please, gets along well with other dogs, but we believe he would chase cats (we haven't tested this). He has shown a tendency to chase anything, but responds quickly to direction from us.

He does very well on the off-leash walks with our Aussies -- he runs in very wide circles chasing birds and bees for at the entire hour we are out at the ranch. Once we have finished this daily walk, he calms down nicely for the rest of the day. He plays very well with our Aussie, Mandy -- they tug on toys, wrestle and generally have a really good time. He is snuggly, will lie down with his head on your chest, but does not lick. He is a generally really nice boy who wants to love and be loved. We can't keep him because the city we live in limits dogs to 3 so would like to find him the perfect home. Danny is in Modesto area. Application required.
