August 2012 Recently Adopted Aussies

The list of adopted aussies is growing fast! Wonderful for the dogs but hard to show all on one page. We have split up the past adoptions by month. Use the links to see all our wonderful adoptions and adoptions we have assisted.
View the dogs below. Click on their pictures to see a larger image. The links above will take you through our different categories of listings.
Ace NCAR #814
Ace is a 6-year-old, 110-pound neutered blue merle whose owner was institutionalized. The family asked us to rehome Ace. We had to shave him (took 3 of us 2.5 hours) and bathe him twice he was such a stinky mess.

He's still figuring out what happened to him, seems to get along fine with everyone here, likes being inside or outside. His thyroid is a little low, so we've started him on meds to help him lose 30 - 35 pounds.

He's otherwise healthy, low key and will presumably blossom (like Big Red) once he gets to a healthy weight.

Lenny NCAR #653
We rescued Lenny almost 2 years ago because his owner wouldn't allow him in the house and he howled so much that neighbors complained. We adopted him to a family about a year ago and he loved being a house dog and having his people around all the time. Things changed and now he's left alone for 6 hours a day, and he doesn't handle it well. He has some separation anxiety which is improving, but his owners feel he's not happy.
They don't have a fenced yard, so leaving him outside is not an option. He bonded very closely to the Mom and sticks very close to her. Now that she leaves for work, he positions himself under the car so she can't pull away!

Lenny is 9 years old, about 45 pounds and in great shape. He loves walks anywhere, anytime. He's great off leash, and loves hiking in the snow. He loves being with his Mom anywhere and anytime, inside or outside (unless there is gunshot). He loves to be petted and loved and would happily sit on the couch with his people if allowed. He doesn't chase the chickens or their outdoor cats, but will occasionally lunge at their indoor cat, but never makes contact. There are sheep and cattle that come graze on his property throughout the year and he doesn't care about them. Lenny is a good watch dog and is in Grass Valley.

Pip NCAR Pup #47
Pip is a 14-week-old, deaf Aussie puppy who got lost or that someone abandoned. He's very smart, sweet, pushy, and gets along with all the dogs here. He likes to play fetch and has good vision. He's a quick study and will do well with obedience or any activity once he understands hand signals.

His tail is a natural bob; he's only 20 pounds and shouldn't be a huge boy. Fostered in Grass Valley.

***ADOPTED 8/11***
Lexi is a 3-year-old, 52-pound black tri who is full of personality and plays hard. She likes everyone she meets. She's very strong and can pull hard on a leash when she sees other dogs. She would do well with plenty of daily exercise and training. She has been very well cared for and loved, but was too much dog for her elderly people to handle. Fostered in Grass Valley.
