Bella NCAR #1067 & Kunu NCAR #1068
These American Miniature Shepherds (TOY AUSSIES) were surrendered to a shelter in northern CA because Bella air snapped at their one year old baby when the baby fell on her.
Bella is 9 years old, and Kunu is 7 years old. They each weight about 11 pounds. They really enjoy each other's company and I'd like to see them adopted together. They arent tolerant of cats, and they dont seem to be too interested in playing with other dogs.
Kunu is a bit intolerant of brushing or looking at his teeth, but has come around over the past several weeks.
They enjoy people and older children very much. They also LOVE car rides. Bella likes to play fetch and initiates play often. They are smart, lively and cute as buttons! Fostered in Grass Valley.

Maddie NCAR #1079
This girl has DRIVE! Maddie turns one year old on December 16. She is a miniature American Shepherd who grew too big for her owners liking, so she was put on Craigs list. I dont know who the breeder is, and I dont know if she was sold when she was too young, but she gets uber excited around other dogs. Shes playful in a pushy way which I curb with a leash and a squirt bottle. I also think she was allowed to do anything she pleases in her former home.
She loves toys and loves to fetch and I think with an energetic, experienced handler, shell be fine.
Maddie is food aggressive with dogs..ONLY dogs. Loves all people and children, but because of the food aggression, she should be in an adult home only. Maddie weighs only 26 pounds and is spry and light on her feet. Fostered in Grass Valley.

Bishop
Bishop is a 65 pound, 6 year old blue merle whose owner is too ill to care for him anymore. Hes good with young grandchildren, lived with another Aussie, and knows Sit, stay, lay down, leave it with hand signals as well as verbal cues. Bishop is good off leash, fetches a ball & Frisbee, and is loyal, loving and smart. He would do best living in a home with no other animals. Bishop is in Manteca. Application required.

Astro
Courtesy post for TikiHut Akita Rescue
Astro is 3-year old, male Aussie Mix that was adopted last year was returned to our rescue because his parents broke up and moved to places that did not allow pets. We pulled him from a shelter even though he obviously didnt have any strong Akita features. Astro bonded with our evaluator and it was hard to leave him there.
Astro spent about six months in our program getting the socialization and training he previously didnt receive (we think he was left by himself in a backyard with minimal interactions when he was younger). He used to be fearful of everything loud and new, but after his time with us and the behavioral adjustment training his parents did with him, hes become more confident, though hes still working on his fears of garbage trucks and other large, noisy vehicles. We think Astro would do best in an adult only home either as an only dog or with a nice female dog.

Shiner and Blue
Shiner is a 12 year old Aussie/Hound mix girl. Shes spayed and easy going. Blue is her father and is 13 years old, neutered and also easy going. They were badly neglected then abandoned by their owner so a neighbor took them in, got them healthy (were covered in fleas and ticks). However, the neighbor is in a mobile home and cant keep them very long. Hoping to find a home, foster home or rescue to take these two darlings. They are near Stockton.

Doyle NCAR #1075
Doyle is a 7-8 year old black tri who was found in the town of Doyle in Lassen County. No one was looking for him. He was neutered, matted, and about 10 pounds overweight. I have no idea how he ended up abandoned.
Hes shy meeting new people but is loving, housebroken and easy on a leash. He sticks to me like glue. OK with cats. Fostered in Grass Valley.
