Cody NCAR #954
Cody is a gorgeous, 5 year old red tri who weighs about 60 pounds. His owner died and there wasn't any next of kin to take him. We were called by neighbors to help him.

He's darling, energetic, house broken, would benefit from obedience classes. He will be neutered 1/7 and available for adoption by 1/10. Fostered in Grass Valley.

***ADOPTED 2/23***
Bacchus is a sweet, 50-pound, 4-year-old herding/hunting dog mix who was adopted as a puppy from the Santa Cruz SPCA. He's lived with a couple since he was 2 months old. He chases skateboarders and bicyclists. He's killed a skunk and a bird and will go after gophers in the yard. He loves playing ball, and his chew toys and plays nicely with other dogs in the family. He is a smartie and knows: sit, down, stay, come, easy, outside, get in bed, let's go, dog treat. He is crate trained, likes other dogs and likes meeting strangers. He's fine in the car alone and the yard alone. Bacchus is obedient and loving and is being rehomed because the 2 year old son has allergies. Bacchus is in Santa Cruz.

Kindred NCAR #955
Kindred is a 10 month old black tri girl who weighs about 55 pounds. She's bouncy, plays hard with the boys, a bit mouthy and sweet! She would do well with obedience training (would't we all?) and with someone who will give her plenty of physical and mental exercise. She's house broken and was well cared for until her owner had to move to an apartment. Fostered in Grass Valley.

Scarlet NCAR #935
Scarlet was taken to the Santa Cruz Animal Shelter because her owners couldn't care for her anymore. She had severe flea bite dermatitis which resulted in her biting and scratching all the hair from her rear. Thanks to good medication and loving care from Susan, her foster mom in Sacramento, Scarlet is completely healed and her coat is shiny and healthy.

She's a delightful girl, loves her foster Aussie sister and loves cats. She likes EVERYONE she meets, but does have some leash aggression towards DOGS which is her only challenge. She also likes to chase cows, so needs a fenced in yard. Fostered in Grass Valley.

Jack NCAR #398
Jack is a very timid, 10 year old Aussie boy with his long fluffy tail that we rescued from the Yuba County shelter in 2005. He was so traumatized in the shelter that we had to lift him out of his kennel to take him to the play yard for evaluation. He has only one functional eye. As we hoped, he's warmed up considerably over the years.

Jack is completely docile and loving. He loves to play with nice dogs and LOVES to swim! He is good on leash and happily walks along side of me and is very good off leash, too.

He is a jewel at the vet and is a perfect gentleman. Jack graduated from a 10 week obedience class. He will need a patient person who give him plenty of time to bond as he's glued to his "person." This is a mellow boy who lives nicely with cats and needs a playful doggy companion. He's too timid for a family with children. GREAT with cats.

PERFECT HOME FOR JACK: Female with quiet home, cats and a playful, sweet dog OK too! Fostered in Grass Valley.
