OSCAR
Oscar is a strong, leash reactive black tri who will turn 2 in July. Hes 54 pounds and has not had any formal training. Hes in his second home already, and his breeder will not take him back.

He likes being next to his person and bares teeth when our Sanctuary dogs come near him. I watched him closely and it seems to be fear based. Hes happy and loving in his home, but is a pulling machine on leash when he sees dogs approaching. Owners wife is terrified of walking him, but Ive worked with the hubby and gave him an Easy Walk Harness and tips for desensitizing Oscar.

I think hed be happy herding, doing agility and other physical activities other than playing with dogs. Oscar is in San Jose and wed like to find him an experienced foster home or permanent home where hell get the behavior modification he needs.

***ADOPTED 2/20***
Samba NCAR #1040
Samba is a 10 year-old mini Aussie who was surrendered to us because she wasn't a good enough watch dog. She's dropping pounds here and is down to 49 pounds thanks to a small dose of thyroid meds. Ideally, she should be around 42-44 pounds.

She's happiest as an only dog, but can live just fine with my pack here. She has perked up quite a bit since her arrival. She's easy to have around, housebroken, rides well in the car, and easy on a leash. She does bark at dogs coming to the fence, but corrects easily. Fostered in Grass Valley.

Vito Teddy NCAR #1051
We think Teddy is a 3-4 year old sable Australian Shepherd. We KNOW that hes mellow, sweet and just gorgeous! He was a stray picked up by Tracy Animal Control. No chip, no tags and no one came for him..which is really surprising since hes neutered and in good shape. A total gift to us!

Hes playful with other playful dogs, is happy hanging in the house and will let you know if he needs to go out. I dont know how he is with cats. He's healthy at about 54 pounds.
