Clancy

Clancy came into the Stockton Shelter as a stray and no one came for him. He seems to be a 9-11 year old Corgi/small Aussie mix because he weighs only 20 pounds. He was quite skittish when he first got here, so I had him dragging a 12 foot leash. Now he follows me everywhere, but if I reach down to pet him, he moves away. He will sit next to me on the sofa, and enjoys petting, but does not solicit it. He likes other dogs and will give chase happily.

I haven't seen him pick up a toy or chase a ball yet but maybe in the future he will! He's very sweet, doesn't have a bite in him and likes being inside or outside. Fostered in Grass Valley

MARS NCAR #

Mars came to us due to a divorce. He?s a stunning 57 pound Blue Merle who turns 5 years old in January, 2022. He just had neuter surgery and was microchipped and is settling in well at the Sanctuary. He likes to run and play, is fine in the house, but has an ?iffy? recall. He?s not used to running around leash free and finds the Sanctuary very fun!

I would not trust him yet off leash in open space. He likes anyone over 12 years of age, and is very barky and reluctant to warm up to children. He LOVES car rides and is a good watch dog with a deep bark. Fostered in Grass Valley.

Luna

Luna is playful and sweet 1 year old black tri girl. She was picked up as a stray in Yuba City. She loves to play hard and chase other dogs, and jumps up for pets, will play fetch, and is learning house manners. She is crate trained.

In my opinion, she spent her life outside in a yard. She sometimes barks through the fence at other dogs, but it's out of excitement and she can easily be corrected. This girl is ready to learn and will fill out to be a 45 pound girl. Right now she's 40 pounds.

Fostered in Grass Valley. Contact: Kim at kim@norcalaussierescue.com

***ADOPTED 2/5***
Oreo
Oreo is a 2 year old black tri who weights 57 pounds. He is sweet, loving, knows some commands and is crate trained. He was an outside only dog who slept in a crate in the garage.

He'sis willful and will fence bark at other dogs. His owner grabbed his collar to keep him from licking something in the garage and Oreo nipped him. I think collar grabs when a dog is invested in something is not wise, but for sure he should not be placed in a home with children.

He's had obedience classes, but needs much more one-on-one training from an experienced person. He could also be a ranch dog with limited leash time and lots of fenced property for running. Oreo has a slow recall and cannot be off leash at this point. Oreo likes other dogs and plays rough. He'd do well with another large, playful dog that enjoys rough-housing. He may chase cats. Fostered in Grass Valley..
