Link NCAR #702
Link took Carlas breath away! She met several of our Aussies just to be nice, but she knew all along Link was going to go home to Piedmont with her. He starts obedience very soon and will be Carlas constant companion.

This darling 2 year old red tri came to us from the Klamath Falls, Oregon shelter. He was found with a belt around his neck with a piece of rope tied to that. No one came looking for him and we were able to get him from Oregon to Grass Valley within 18 hours of receiving the call from the shelter. Thank you Kayce!

Hes a darling boy, doesnt know much, but is friendly and playful with other dogs. Fostered in Grass Valley.

Nikky NCAR #701
Susan was looking for a new running partner since Sierra (pictured) is now 12 years old and no longer goes 9 miles a day. Nicky has the youth, energy and stamina for Susan and her very active family in Granite Bay.

Nikky was tied to a tree on Christmas Eve. Animal Control was called and took him to their Auburn shelter where he waited for a week, but no one came for him.

Barbara, the rescue coordinator asked me to take him the first day he was available. It amazes me how emotional she gets, even after 20+ years of working in a sheltershe really empathizes with each dog who comes in. Weve placed several Aussies from Auburn, including Red who lives in Pacific Grove and Ginger who lives at Donner Lake.

Getting back to Nikky, (for St. Nick) hes friendly, about 2 yrs old and about 43 pounds. Hes just adorable and LOVES, LOVES, LOVES to play fetch but isnt obnoxious about it. He is attentive, not barky, good with other dogs and hangs around. Hell be neutered 1-19 and can go home the following weekend. Fostered in Grass Valley.

Brie
Tied with Pi for 1,000th adoption!
Brie was adopted by Jeans son Shane & his wife Joy in Modesto. This little girl has landed a big, loving family!

Brie wandered into someones garage just before Christmas. No one was looking for her or responded to flyers. The person was leaving town and the shelter was full, so we all decided fostering her while we looked for her family would be best. Jean and Bob fostered Brie, took her to their vet so she is utd on shots and will be spayed when shes 6 months old. Fostered in Modesto. Contact Kim at kim@norcalaussierescue.com

Pi NCAR #688
Tied with Brie for 1,000th adoption!
Pi is happily soaking up the love in Kentfield. Jane and her two daughters and their Cavalier Spaniel offer the perfect life for her and Pi feels right at home.

Pi is a 6 year old blue merle who currently weighs 40 pounds, but shes losing some of her love weight now that shes in her foster home. Her full name is Blueberry Pie and was raised in a small home with an older woman who is no longer able to care for her.

She plays with her Aussie brother endlessly, but is also devoted to her foster mom. She has a great temperament, housebroken, healthy and pretty! Her coat was shaved and is coming in nicely now. Fostered in Rohnert Park.

Buckles NCAR #695 - our 999thadoption!

Buckles went home to Mill Valley with Jennifer and Sae and their sons. Hell be going to obedience classes, get daily power walks and be with Jennifer most of the time. It truly was love at first sight.

Buckles is a 2 year old, smaller blue merle boy who lived with two small children and spent lots of time outside. His owner had major surgery and asked if we would rehome him. He's sweet, very agile and a good candidate for obedience and agility. He can jump straight into the air very high! He's velcro and adorable. Fostered in Grass Valley.

Cassandra
Mendocino County Animal Care Services

Cassandra was lost. Her people decided not to take her home. We find her to be a delightfully happy dog. She pretends to stalk in a typical herding breed stance. She did very well with a big Sheepdog during the dog/dog part of her evaluation.
Cassandra weighs 51 pounds, and is 2 years old. She's been in the shelter since 10/21/10.

Maggie ~ Paradise Animal Control

Maggie is still a bit camera shy, but she is just as sweet as she can be and still waiting patiently for her 4-ever home.

Maggie is a 9 month old female Aussie mix who came into the Paradise Animal Control as a stray. She's mixed with something shorthaired and will post photos as soon as we get them.

She was adopted a few months ago, but was too much for an owner that wasn't home enough...she's still in "puppy mode.

She is spayed, heartworm negative, very smart, & playful. She gets along with other dogs & cats "Maggie" will chew things if she is left alone - but that's easy to remedy. Peggy is fostering Maggie and maybe be contacted at:

Paradise Animal Control is open 11 - 4 PM, Tuesday through Saturday.
