Luke NCAR #934
Luke lives with Peggy, Tom and his sister Amber in Folsom. He gets to go everywhere with his new family and has a big yard for playing chase with Amber!
Luke is a 4-5 year old big, black tri boy with his tail...he might be an English Shepherd - very hard call to make! Sadly, his owner died. Neighbors brought him and his German Shepherd buddy to the Tulare County shelter in Visalia.
Hes easy-going, friendly, about 15 pounds overweight and just as handsome as can be. Hell be neutered and get all his shots on 6/30. Fostered in Grass Valley.

Blue
Blue is a 7-year-old Golden/Aussie mix. She's 65 pounds, very loyal to her person, not too friendly with strangers. She loves fetch and can be inside the house for long stretches of time. Her owner is moving to take care of her elderly parents and Blue cannot go with her. She's a bit leash reactive with other dogs, but her owner has it under control on her daily walks. I think Blue would do best in a rural environment where she can play fetch in a large yard, go off-leash hiking and be inside with her people a lot.
I met Blue and think she will transfer her allegiance from her person to another. We are desperate to find a foster home for Blue because she will not do well at the shelter and probably fail temperament testing. Sammi NCAR #930
 Sammi lives with her new 10 month old brother JT (adopted from NCAR) and Thomas and Jennifer in Sacramento. She and JT get along famously and Sammi will start beginning obedience soon.
Sammi is a 10 month old, 26 pound Mini Aussie. She's sweet and on the timid side, crate trained, travels well and housebroken.
She was being picked on by the female lab in her home, so we were asked to take her. (Breeder would not take her back).
I think she needs obedience classes and people who will take her everywhere with them. She's OK with cats and is just adorable. Fostered in Grass Valley.

Judah NCAR #931
 Judah, now called JoJo, is Jay's constant companion in Richmond. JoJo gets to go to the university where Jay teaches, too! These boys will have many adventures together!
Judah is a handsome, strong, 4 year old black tri who is loving, Velcro and darling.He's 75 pounds and needs to trim down to about 60! He pulls like a freight train on a leash, so he's not for the first time dog owner, and obedience classes will be required. We will try either a Gentle Leader or Easy Walk Harness and see if he's easier to handle!
This boy was raised with 4 special needs children and a cat and has only shown love for them. Fostered in Grass Valley.

Lulu NCAR Pup #69
 Lulu now lives with 3 generations of family who adore her! How great is that?
Lulu is a sweet, slightly timid, 7 pound terrier mix. She came into the Modesto shelter as a stray. Our vet estimates she's about 15 months old. She's fully vetted and healthy.
She loves to be cuddled, is ok with other dogs, but we don't know about cats. Fostered in Grass Valley.

Cooper NCAR #901
 Cooper will be with Betty 24/7 whether in the house, the yard, the car, the motor home or the barn. Its the perfect life for Cooper!
Cooper is a 10-year-old black tri whose family surrendered him to the shelter because "they had no time for him." The surrender form that they filled out said that he lived outside, was friendly and that they purchased him from a breeder as a puppy. He was only 39 pounds, anemic from flea bites, had bald spots and wasnt neutered.
He has blossomed here and is showing me hes a goofy sweet boy who is experiencing many things for the first time, like car travel, great food, a bath, and being inside. He gets along with all the dogs here, barks when they play rough, and is glued to me most of the time. He leaves cats alone. Fostered in Grass Valley.

Shelby NCAR #936
 Shelby lives in San Jose with Lori where shell be a family member and forevermore (hopefully) cast-free!
Shelby is a 2 year old miniature Aussie who weighs about 18 pounds. She had a rough start by breaking her elbow (and growth plate) at 6 months, then broke the same leg in another place about 2 weeks ago. Her owner couldnt afford her care and surrendered her. Her orthopedic surgeon said her first break didnt heal correctly, but she has no pain, just a slight limp. We paid for the repair of her second break and shes healing nicely. The surgeon and his staff couldnt say enough nice things about Shelby!
She is being fostered by Gwen in Martinez till end June and her cast comes off. Thank you Gwen! Shelby is very energetic, was an outside dog and is learning to be an inside and outside dog. She gives kisses and likes to cuddle. She chases cats. Fostered in Martinez.
