Sheila was adopted from us many years ago and was returned to us when her owner died. She is 13 years young, 48 pounds, and will turn 14 on 8/27/22.

She is easy to have around, likes her toys and ball, likes short walks and loves petting. She?s doing very well and takes some anti-inflammatories.

Starlight is a 50 pound, 5 year old black tri who turns 6 in August. Sadly, her owner has to move into a small place that doesnt allow dogs.

Starlight is housebroken, very loving, loves her squeaky toys and balls, and knows shake, sit, Hi 5, down, wait, roll over and give kisses.

Ollie is a 4 year old red tri Miniature American Shepherd who has lots of energy and will play fetch forever! He?s 25 pounds, lives inside and out and is housebroken. Ollie needs lots of running exercise, and only gets leash walks every morning.

He lives with Lucy, a 3 year old Miniature American Shepherd and enjoys her company. (see her posting below) One of Ollie?s owners passed away, and now the other owner is working long hours and can?t give him what he needs. Ollie lives in Grass Valley. He can be adopted with or without Lucy.

Lucy is a 3 year old, black tri Miniature American Shepherd who is laid back and lovey. She?s chunky at 36 pounds ? and should lose 6 ? 8 pounds. She?s quite friendly to everyone she meets. Lucy walks well on a leash and also plays fetch. Lucy has lived with Ollie her whole life. One of Lucy?s owners passed away, and now the other owner is working long hours and can?t give Lucy the attention she craves. Lucy lives in Grass Valley and can be adopted with or without Ollie.

Duke is a 9 month old, 24 pound red merle with his tail. He is the off spring of Suzie and Cooper and came to us from a breeder. He's friendly, very needy and is all over me for pets. Duke is afraid of some dogs, and needs to be introduced slowly. Fostered in Grass Valley.

Rafe or Rafey is 7 months old, neutered and utd on shots. He was rescued from a back yard breeder who had both the mother and father. Breeder posted him Craigs list "free to good home" A kind woman got him and called us.
Rafe is crate trained, good with other friendly dogs, scares easily if big dogs rush him. He's about 29 pounds now, and should grow to be a 40+ pound adult. He's loving, knows sit, and can bark at things that scare him. He runs fast, is learning to play fetch and is ready for obedience classes. Fostered in Pacifica.

Nala is a 2 year old black tri who is sweet, housebroken and weighs about 47 pounds. She's spayed, UTD on shots and microchipped. Nala loves everyone she meets, plays hard with other dogs, and is quite active. Nala needs daily running exercise. She wants to play relentlessly, so she shouldn't be in a home with timid cats that run from her - probably should not live with cats. She's getting along swimmingly here at the Sanctuary. Nala is confident, agile and ready for obedience, agility or any other fun experiences. She is quite loyal, loves her person and will snuggle on the couch. Sometimes if she feels she's not getting enough attention she will nip people's sleeves to get their attention.

We feel she will do well being part of a family, being an inside/outside dog and getting the attention, exercise and training she deserves. She could easily be a running or hiking partner. Mason is a 3 year old, reserved Miniature American Shepherd who weighs 19 pounds. He came to us from a breeder's home, having very little exposure to the world. He is slow to warm to new people, but when he does, he truly shows affection and follows them everywhere. He is a people dog. 

Mason behaves well on a leash.  He likes outdoor walks and rides well in the car.  He has a strong recall to people he loves. Mason should be introduced to new people on a leash, as he behaves well when leashed, but shies from new people when off leash. He is crate trained, house trained, uses a doggie-door, and loves cuddling on the sofa.  He has a good relationship with other dogs and needs someone with time and patience to show him the world. He has blossomed in his foster home and is a true companion dog.  He likes both men and women and needs a quiet household with time to dedicate to him to help him become his true self.
