Thomas NCAR# 726
Thomas appeared onto a familys front yard and felt very comfortable hanging out with the kids. He was flea infested, bad skin irritation, ultra thin at 42 pounds but very cheerful! The vet thinks hes 12-18 months old.
He has blossomed in foster care! He's up to 55 pounds, his coat is luxurious and he is VELCRO! He loves children, likes to play fetch, is loving, but chases cats. Hes being fostered in Ceres with his new Aussie brother and Sister (adopted from NCAR in 2008) Hes great off leash, is fitting right in with his foster family and is a wonderful boy. Fostered in Ceres, near Modesto.

Jack NCAR #719
Shiloh and Jack came to us from Arizona. They are 3 year old brothers and just delightful! Sadly, their owner is ill and asked if we
might help them find a great home. They can live with cats, with children and are housebroken. They will counter surf which
doesnt help their weight loss program! Shiloh is still about 5 pounds overweight, but is slowly slimming down. He's a great boy and loves everyone.
Jack has been adopted by his foster Mom and Dad and Shiloh is with me at the Sanctuary in Grass Valley.

Princess NCAR# 730
Tom thought Princess looked sweet, and came to visit her with his Bernese Merlin. She and Merlin are similar in temperaments: mellow,
loving, easy-going. Princess went home to Benicia with Tom and his two sons Kyle and Kody.
Princess was left with a family by another family member who moved away. Princess is 3 years old, about 50 pounds and spayed. Apparently,
her mother was an Aussie, but we're not sure about the father.
Princess is deaf, friendly, has nice house manners, lived with children of all ages, lived with cats and other dogs. She does not know
any hand signals which would help her tremendously! She puts her paw out to touch my hand in the most adorable way! She is adjusting
to the Sanctuary just fine and loves to run, run and run. She sees well, and has run through and jumped over the equipment in the
agility ring! Fostered in Grass Valley .

Kaina NCAR #691
Kaina waited for his perfect home with Christine, a vet who wanted a low key, hiking buddy. Kaina is our second adoption in the tiny
town of Iowa Hill! Our first was Max. A man at the Iowa Hill Store told me there are only about 55 families & 100 dogs in the community!

Socially, he doesn't know what to around other dogs, he yelps and whines when he sees them and can get barky. He also isn't tolerant of small children wrestling or playing hard....he wants them to stop! He's a gentle soul and would do best in a quiet home. He's not a great candidate for lots of leash walks in an urban setting or a dog park. He likes to play fetch and is good off leash and good with dogs he knows.
If rehomed with another dog, the dog should be very
patient and sweet and non threatening. He is a smart, loving dog that just wants to please. He gives
kisses non-stop and all he wants out of life is to be petted, loved and to run.
Cats OK.

Shadow NCAR #716
Note from Jim & Barbara after 1 week:
Hi Kim. This dog is perfect. He apparently loves us and has settled in well. We love Shadow and think he is perfect for us. He is very mild inside, and rambunctious and energetic outside and when on a leash for a walk. I love it.

Shadow is a 5 year old black tri with his tail. He was surrendered to the Sacramento SPCA because the people had too many dogs. He's friendly, likes to run and play. He LOVES playing fetch, and is a big bouncy boy at 63 pounds. He's very playful with playful, nice dogs but will respond if a dog grrrrs at him or plays in a dominant fashion. Fostered in Grass Valley.

Meadow
Meadow is a 9 month old black tri Aussie. She was purchased as a puppy to do Search and Rescue work, but shes a bit too submissive and
timid for such demanding work. She has lots of training, loves fetch and is good with children.
Even on leash, she wants to go after moving objects like bikes, cars and skateboardersso she has drive! Maybe herding would suit her.
Her birthday is 08-08-10, shes only 27 pounds and is up to date on vaccines. Meadow is in Elk Grove, just south of Sacramento.

Raider
Raiders family fell on hard times and asked us to find him a good home. Hes 11 months old and very friendly and playful. Sandra and her son in Los Gatos adopted Sunny from NCAR a few years ago and thought Raider would be a wonderful addition to their active, Aussie loving family. Raiders life was just made!
