2013 Recently Adopted Aussies

The list of adopted aussies is growing fast! Wonderful for the dogs but hard to show all on one page. We have split up the past adoptions by month. Use the links to see all our wonderful adoptions and adoptions we have assisted.

Zeus NCAR Pup #43
Zeus is an energetic and loving 17-month-old mini Aussie who weighs about 17 pounds. He's spry, fun, and needs more mental and physical activity than his owner could provide. He also can be a bit bratty about guarding his special toys or treats, (but not scary) so we don't think he should be placed in a home with children. He's housebroken, playful and graduated from one puppy obedience class and is ready for more! Fostered in Grass Valley.

Lily NCAR #342
Lily is 9- 10 years old. She was adopted from us in 2004. She lived with a young family with a baby and a toddler. She's very gentle with babies and sweet with all people. Her one issue that doesn't seem to improve is that she likes to run and not come back when called. She'll eventually come back, but not until she's had her fun...this can take hours. Her family gave her back to us in 2007.

She's happy running around the Sanctuary, although she will bolt out of the gate and has figured how to dig under the fence to get out and hunt rabbits. It's her guilty pleasure. This girl is sweet, sweet, sweet and is a delightful, obedient girl unless she goes on one of her escapades...but she always comes back!

She'd be a great 2nd story apartment dog (so she won't bolt out the front door) where she gets a chance to frequent a fenced dog park for running exercise, or go jogging on-leash with someone. Another potential scenario for her would be a big ranch without fencing WAY off the beaten path.

When she's done hunting and investigating, she parks it in the Sanctuary driveway just outside the gate. She hangs around and is an awesome ranch dog. She can't live in suburbia or and urban environment where she could bolt out the door and get into the street. Fostered in Grass Valley. No cats.

Eddie NCAR PUP # 38
Eddie was out of time at the shelter and through a series of help from kind volunteers, we rescued him at the 11th hour. He's about 18 months to 2 years old, looks like a Yorkie-Poo (Yorkie Poodle mix) and weighs about 14 lbs. He's very loving, likes sleeping on my bed,is crate trained, plays fetch and is playing with our other small dogs nicely.

He's leary of men, but if they sit down, he'll warm up eventually. He's great with all women. I think children and a busy householdwould overwhelm him. A great companion dog for a quiet home, and he enjoys being held. Eddie is GOOD WITH CATS! Fostered in Grass Valley.
