Diva NCAR pup #32
Sweet Diva stole the hearts of Bill and Carol and their 3 year old Yorkie, Prince. The happy little family lives in Reno and
Diva will always have someone’s lap to sleep in and grandchildren to kiss!
This 9 pounds Yorkie with her tail was out of time at the Yuba County shelter. She's sweet, likes being held and is Velcro. She's
now crate trained, likes to follow me around, checks out what the other dogs are doing, and is starting to initiate play. She's 2-3
years old and her coat color is amazing! Blonde and black intertwined. ...really gorgeous!
Fostered in Grass Valley.

Outback
Calaveras County Animal Shelter
G'day, I'm Outback, a big, friendly 1 year old , handsome, blue merle colored Australian Shepherd mix . I weigh in at 58 pounds, have all my shots, but
will need to be neutered before you can bring me home. I need a strong handler who can give me the training and attention I crave. I
have plenty of love to give and bond easily. I'll probably do best with older kids who like to play. . . a lot! If you have room in
your home and heart, I'm your guy!

Jack NCAR #724
Mike and his family wanted a mellow, friendly young Aussie and Jack fit the bill perfectly! Jack will be Mike’s side kick on week
days, and go to the beach on weekends with the kids. Jack will probably enjoy meeting many new people in his new home in San Francisco.
Jack is a handsome, 55 pound, 4 year old black tri who came into the Modesto shelter. His owners said they would be back with money to
spring him, but never returned. (cost to redeem an intact dog must have been too steep)
After two weeks, Jack ran out of time at the shelter, and although he flew through temperament testing, he needed to get out ASAP so we
rescued him.
Jack is very mellow, secure, housebroken and comfortable on my couch! He’s fine with the other dogs, but doesn’t seem playful, and is
more interested in being around me. He’s friendly to visitors to the Sanctuary. He’s has kennel cough and will be available after
altering the last week of April.

Leopold
Doggie Protective Services, Palo Alto, CA
Leopold is a 2 year old blind-deaf Australian Shepherd. He was the product of a bad back yard breeder who
bred 2 merles together which often produces beautiful puppies but ones who have significant disabilities
like our dear Leopold. He currently lives in a home with other dogs who he follows around and he lives with
cats as well. He isn't bothered by either. He also lives with a 2 1/2 year old boy who absolutely adores
him.
Leopold is looking for a home that can see beyond what he doesn't have and is willing to consider what he
does have to offer and that is a very sweet, loving personality with tons of affection to offer. He
absolutely craves love and affection. He's been missing out on it until he found a wonderful woman who has
been taking care of him.
We have a sponsor for Leopold who has agreed to pay his adoption fee if we find the right home that is
willing to offer him a lifetime of love and attention.

his life in a crate. His owner became ill and gave him to a neighbor to rehome. Logan is in Santa Clara .

Max NCAR #727
Loving Max has a family of his own in Santa Rosa. Cyndi and Ski and their two girls are so excited to have another furry kid in
the house and Max instantly made himself right at home!
This little black tri with his tail was found out in the country in Yuba County. Like Thomas, no one responded to the newspaper ad or flyers around town and the shelter. Vet guesses his age at 7 months. He’s sweet, healthy, only 31 pounds and likes children. He’ll be neutered and available for adoption after May 15. Fostered in Grass Valley.

Gallagher NCAR #715
Gallagher (Gally) lives with Brian and Mary Lou in Napa. He joyfully runs around in 2 fenced acres, and hangs with Brian all day.
Hopefully, he’ll learn to pull weeds in the garden!
We rescued Gallagher from the shelter in Redding. He's probably around 2 years old, has a beautiful face and red coat, and has his tail. Judging from his sun bleached coat,he has spent most of his life outdoors. He's very friendly and wiggly, fun loving, VERY agile and loves everyone. He hasn't had any formal training and would benefit from obedience and then agility classes. He's Velcro, now neutered, and only about 44 pounds. Fostered in Grass Valley.

Dundee NCAR #XXX
Dundee & Nellie with Mark & Nancy
Dundee is a 60 pound, 4 year old red merle who came to us because he scared the neighbor’s 5 year old daughter. He lunged and barked at her and because of their proximity to his house, everyone thought it best to find him a new home. He’s quirky, but easy going. He would love best to live as an only dog, but has lived with another Aussie quite well… she's a bossy girl at that!
He’s completely focused on food! Where it is, where it was, who has it, who had it, when will he get it... well you get the picture. He’s a funny guy who will chase cats, plays well with other dogs, but is low key and can stay hours in a yard quietly. Fostered in Grass Valley.

Nellie, NCAR #708
Dundee & Nellie with Mark & Nancy
Nellie is a 55 pound, gorgeous black tri who just turned 7 years old. Her owners are consumed with a dying family member and asked us to find her a good home.
Nellie is fun and loves all people. She is in great shape, plays hard, friendly towards everyone and a poster girl for black tri Aussies! She would love to live with a playful Aussie or could be an only dog with lots of activity, off leash romps in open space or in a large yard. She’s really happy and darling and loves toys. Fostered in Grass Valley.

PENDLETON NCAR #638
Pendleton with Melissa and George
Pendleton is a 3 year old mini red tri. We flew him and 4 others to Grass Valley in May. He's scared of people, but will not bite. It took
weeks for him to allow me to hold him or for him to come to me when called. He does take a treat from my hand, gets along with other dogs
and loves the snow! He's good on a leash and crate trained. Fostered in Grass Valley.
Rescued from an illegal puppy mill in Washington state. We flew Pendleton, Melina, Wally and 2 others from Spokane to Sacramento May, 09. Animal Friends in Salinas took
two, and Gail & Brian have been rehabilitating Melina and Wally in Walnut Creek, and we have had Pendleton at the Sanctuary. These dogs are
ultra timid and need a quiet, adult only home where they will have a routine and plenty of one on one time with their people.

Daisy NCAR #583
Daisy with Julia
Daisy is a 2 year old black tri female who was darting in and out of traffic in San Rafael when a good samaritan stopped her car and lured her in. She was under one year of age. She was in pretty bad shape and had recently had a litter of puppies. She is very smart and very loyal and only about 40 pounds. The kind family who found her nursed her to health and took her to obedience where she excelled in 3 consecutive courses.
They have teen aged children, and when their kids' friends came over, it was apparent that Daisy was afraid of young men, particularly in baggy clothing. She nipped some of them. So she needs to be on a leash if male visitors approach her. We have noticed the same thing at the Sanctuary where she'll want to go after male visitors if not on leash. I have her under voice control..
She LOVES to play fetch with a tennis ball and is fabulous off leash in open space.
She'd be a great agility dog, companion for an active person who does not have children nor a busy household with visitors coming in and out. She'd be so happy digging for gophers and playing fetch on a large property. She also loves car rides, is crate trained and GOOD WITH CATS! Fostered in Grass Valley.
