Bigsby lives the good life in Oakland where he gets to soak up the love from his new stay-at-home Mom and Dad, and goes on walks and off leash romps.

Bigsby is a 5-year-old, mini black tri. He's neutered, utd on shots and about 36-40 lbs. He's instinctively awesome at watching and herding farm animalsbut is a bit too interested in chickens for him to be around them unattended! He will happily do this "work" all day. On command, he can sit, lie down, and stay. He loves to "load up" for car rides and adventures. He's lived on acreage most of his life and loves being outside.he also enjoys a warm blanket and to lie in his crate in his home. Bigsby loves other dogs and is a social butterfly at the dog park. He loves all people including strangers and adores kids. He lives with a 4 year old, a cat, and chickens. He's also been around sheep, horses and cows.

Dylan NCAR #917

Dylan lives in Napa with Brian and his family. He'll start obedience classes soon and is off to a great start! Brian said it's as if he's lived there his whole life!

Dylan is a 2-3 year old black tri with his tail. He was a stray picked up by the Animal Shelter in Dublin who asked us to take him because he was stressed at the shelter. He knows some commands, loves to play fetch, is a bit timid at first, then warms up quickly. He's about 48 pounds and likes being a house dog, and can be left outside in the yard as well.

He can be quite barky meeting new people. He needs someone to take him places on leash and get him used to meeting people without barking! He is good with cats.

Fostered near Oakland. Contact: Kim at

Pepper NCAR #922

Pepper went home to El Cerrito with Sandi and Ken. Here's what they said after they went home: "We made it home very well!! Pepper is very good in the car. We already got him out for a good walk and played fetch. He is pretty much keeping us in his sight at all times! He has met a few of the neighborhood dogs and human neighbors as well. I feel like we are bonding already. He is a love."

Pepper is an energetic 15 month old black tri whose owners bought him as a puppy. Owner was being treated for depression and his therapist told him a puppy might help...OMG!

These folks had no fenced yard and a 3 year old daughter. Pepper spent a lot of time in a crate, got leash walks, but not nearly enough training and exercise...and when he growled at the now 4 year old daughter, off to the shelter he went.

He's friendly, has a lot of nervous energy, is all over the place when it comes to obedience (bratty) and would do REALLY well with an experienced person who wants to do training, exercise and more training with him. He likes all people, plays nicely with dogs, not sure about cats. Fostered in Grass Valley.

Charley NCAR #896

Charley lives with Betty in Sacramento. He gets to cuddle as much as he wants, which is fine with Betty!

Charley is a 3-year-old, Toy Black-Tri boy. He was a victim of domestic violence; the wife and daughter moved into protective housing and couldn't take her dogs with her. He had surgery on his eye, so it looks a bit goofy, but he can see fine out of the other one. He's sweet and loving. He'd do best with people who shower him with attention and holding...he is a snuggler!

He's cat-friendly, housebroken, walks well on leash, and fairly low key. Although he's fine meeting children, we think a home without young children is best for Charley. He weighs about 16 pounds. Fostered in Grass Valley.

Ollie NCAR # 886

Ollie is on his way to becoming a registered therapy dog, thanks to Dorotheas work with him. He lives happily with a cat and Timmy (adopted 2012).

Ollie is a 9- or 10-year-old blue merle boy with two blue eyes and his tail. He and his brother, Buddy were posted on Craigslist, so one of our volunteers picked them up and got them all cleaned up and examined by his vet.

Buddy and Ollie were living in a pig stall and were extremely matted and flea infested. Once home, a groomer came over to brush them, but that wasn't possible, so they both were shaved.

Ollie is very sweet, and demonstrative about getting pets he'll put his paw on George's lap asking for pets. He doesn't like dogs in his face, but is living in his foster home with two easy-going Aussies and 2 cats. We just had his teeth cleaned and he's a happy and healthy boy! He's about 45 pounds, gives kisses and never barks. We think a home without a lot of stairs is best for him - has a little arthritis. Fostered in Placerville..

***ADOPTED 5/2***

Glacier is a 4-year-old, large blue merle boy with a short coat. He's crate trained, housebroken, and graduated from obedience class. He knows sit, down stay, roll over, heel, release and bed. He's fun and loving, but over protective of his home and yard. He's nipped two workmen who entered his yard. His owners have a new baby and Glacier has growled at her, so they are looking to rehome him to an experienced, adult-only home. Glacier is in Loomis.
