Albi is a 4 year old red merle girl who turns 5 in July. Albi can sit, stay, come, leave it, kennel up, go inside and go outside. She has good recall. Albi can be reactive on leash to dogs that run up to her too quickly and don't respect her space. She loves all people and older children too.

She's 55 pounds and in good health. NO CATS. Owners are moving and cannot take her with them. Fostered in Grass Valley.

***ADOPTED 6/18***
This young boy was abandoned in the streets of southwest Stockton, along with Clancy who was adopted 2/26/20. We think Clancy might be Joji's father. Joji is about 3 years old and was just neutered and microchipped. He's about 24 pounds and we think he's a Corgi mix. Joji needs "a soft place to fall" with someone who will gradually show him the ways of the world. He's ultra timid and sweet, and is housebroken and crate trained.

He is stressed most of the time, so he's now taking Zylkene for situational stress. He's still not taking treats from his foster mom's hand, but follows her everywhere. He doesn't like the other dogs in his home to come too close and will let them know he's not comfortable with a little growl.

Joji has now slept on his foster mom and dad's bed through the night and is making very slow progress learning to trust. Joji needs an adult only home where it's quiet and where he won't be startled. Fostered in Stockton. Contact: Kim at

***ADOPTED 5/15***
Bandit is a 16 month old blue merle boy who is smart and loving and UBER active. His owner is very ill and can no longer care for him. He has some obedience training already, is crate trained and would do well at continued obedience, agility or rally. He needs to blow out his jets DAILY, but can cuddle at night. He's about 45 pounds and agile. No cats. Fostered in Grass Valley.

Tucker NCAR #XXX
Tucker is a 9 year old blue merle who weighs about 60 pounds. He came into the Santa Cruz shelter by someone who got him from Craig's list. We traced his microchip and found that he was adopted from the shelter in Bakersfield when he was about 3 months old.
He LOVES everyone he meets and is Velcro. He needs a securely fenced yard and would do best with a doggie door to the inside. We placed him 4 months ago, but he showed us that he will find a way out of the house if he's left alone too long. He also can be leash reactive when confronted with new dogs. Best scenario is fenced yard, someone who can be with him most of the time and take him for ar rides and hikes in open space. Tucker is crate trained and loves the car! Fostered in Grass Valley.

Summer NCAR #1156
Summer is an 8-9 year old Cocker mix who is quite cuddly and loving. She would love to be someone's one and only, but can live with an easy going dog that doesn't want to play with her all the time! She is obedient, likes leash walks, and has wonderful house manners. Summer lived with a loving family with a young child and cats. Summer is healthy, about 23 pounds, and had dental surgery and will be available for adoption 5/20/20. Fostered in Grass Valley.

Oakley just turn 5 years old on April 23. He is smart, fun, energetic and loving. He grew up with babies, and when they became toddlers, he simply wanted to get away from them. Sweet boy that he is, he never growled or showed teeth. He's a great hiking companion, wants to be with his person all the time, and is used to a doggie door. He'd do best with daily exercise, and living with someone who can be with him most of the time. Fostered in Grass Valley.

***ADOPTED 5/14***
Bailey NCAR #1153
Bailey is a 2-3 year old Aussie mix who is very friendly, playful and Velcro. He LIVES for food and treats.
His DNA report shows that he is:
50% Border Colie
25% Australian Shepherd
12.5% Great Pyrenees
12.5% Pembroke Welsh Corgi

He was picked up as a stray near Turlock, and no one was looking for him. He's housebroken and good with other dogs. Not sure how he'd be with cats. He's 50 pounds, healthy and likes to run fast! If not distracted, he'll chase the tennis ball. Fostered in Grass Valley.
