Ali NCAR #888
Ali was dumped in a dry river bed in Lovelock, Nevada. The Animal Control officer (there's only one for the entire county) took her back to her office and kept her for 15 days. No one was looking for her or inquired about her.

She was scared and kept to herself for the first couple of days at the Sanctuary, then opened up to show us that she loves human attention. We had her spayed, brought up-to-date on her shots, and her teeth cleaned (very worn down). She was overweight, but now is at a heatlhy weight. Our vet thinks she's 11 years old.

She guards her space and food from dogs, and nipped someone who reached down to take her chew bone away. She's loving and playful with me......and always looking for food!

She'd be happiest as an only dog, but can easily live with another laid-back dog. Adopters must be willing to work around her resource guarding. No kids. Fostered in Grass Valley.

Radar NCAR #939
Radar is a 6-year-old, 65-pound blue merle who is a bit out of shape, but otherwise healthy! He's loving, gentle, likes to stay near me, and good with all people and children. His owners surrendered him because he was living outside 24/7 since the children moved out 3-4 years ago. He was kept shaved all his life, yet not taken to the vet for shots because owner stated, "he was never sick or injured." He's now UTD on shots and tested negative for heartworm. He's adapting to life at the Sanctuary with all these Aussies and has started to play. He likes fetch, too. Fostered in Grass Valley.

Rogue NCAR #
Rogue is a handsome black tri with his tail who was found in Siskiyou County. His people didn't come for him.

He is 60 lbs but should be 50 lbs, is low-activity level -- yet jumped into my van easily. He likes the car, seems quiet, fine around other dogs, don't know about cats, but he doesn't show any prey drive! Vet guesses he's around 3 or 4 years old. Gorgeous, easy going boy. Fostered in Grass Valley.

Evie NCAR #210
Evie is a gorgeous 6 year old, blue merle Border Collie with stunning glacier blue eyes and a beautiful coat. She is not interested in meeting strangers and is hopelessly bonded to me....but that can transfer to someone else with time. She does not like strangers approaching her collar or face and will air snap....so adult home only!

We rescued her from the Yolo County shelter and were told she had many homes prior to her being surrendered by her previous owners. She's smart, very good at fetching a ball and plays with other toys as well. Evie is housebroken and has had a little training, she knows sit and down and does not jump up on people or the couch and we're working on more commands. Car rides are enjoyed, and she greets other dogs and folks on a non-aggressive - but prefers not to be touched.

I took her to Gardnerville to let her herd sheep and SHE WAS SO TOTALLY IN HER ELEMENT! She would be happy rounding up sheep, goats, geese, small dogs.........she does it well and without any aggression. GOOD BORDER COLLIE! Ideally, she'd live in a rural environment with plenty of room to herd chickens or ducks! She LOVES fetch, too! Fostered in Grass Valley.
