Cody NCAR #895
Cody is a year old, 40-pound red merle. He's neutered and UTD on shots. Cody's owner rescued him from someone who posted him on Craigslist stating he was headed to the shelter if no one took him. A good (female) Samaritan rescued him from a bad living situation. It's obvious that this boy hadn't ever been on a leash walk or been anywhere besides his yard.
He's extremely timid, but not aggressive. He's petrified of the man in his new home, and has urinated on himself when the man gets too close. Surprisingly, Cody has befriended other males including visitors to the home.
Unfortunately, his female owner is working long hours and cannot give Cody the exposure to new situations that he needs. He's a sweet, extremely affectionate boy who needs someone to take him everywhere, and introduce him to new things slowly. Cody is in Sacramento.

Sasha
 SASHA is an 8-year-old, spayed female Border collie, possibly mixed with Australian shepherd.
She is housebroken, good on a leash, knows a few basic commands, and is very quiet, unless she needs to alert you. Sasha likes to fetch, as well as relax and take life easy.
She is very affectionate and endearing. Sasha loves going for car rides. As she relishes in being the apple of her owner's eye, she only shares with dogs that don't challenge that. She would be very happy to be the only dog.
This is a really sweet dog who was surrendered to the county animal control, as her owner passed away.

Buddy
Buddy is a 14- to 18-month-old Aussie or Aussie mix who is easy-going, playful and loving. He was a stray picked up in Reno. He’s completely deaf and has impaired sight. He’s agile, housebroken and sweet with every dog he meets. He is a bit shy of visitors to the sanctuary, but then warms up once they pet him! He’s a darling companion dog – would do great with an able-bodied, playful and non-threatening dog. Fostered in Grass Valley.

Roo NCAR #894
She's a darling, 6-7 month old Setter or Aussie mix maybe Brittany we are not sure. But we are sure that she's sweet, friendly, loving and happy to be at the Sanctuary. She was bought as a puppy off Craig's List, then dumped at a friend's house. She had never been to a vet! She's completely vetted now and happily plays with Buddy and Milo and is a complete love puppy! Fostered in Grass Valley.

Sammie NCAR #848
Sammie is 14 years young! Her owners are heartbroken, but were forced to give her up when they moved into senior housing. She's obedient, loves people including little children, lived with cats and is easy to have around. She has been fed way too much and is on her way down to 50 pounds.
Although she can live with other dogs, I've observed her to want to be left alone when other dogs come up to sniff her. I think the best gift would be for her to live as an only companion to someone who will dote on her. Fostered in Sacramento.

Scarlet NCAR #889
 Scarlet was a stray found in Yolo County. She was adopted and returned due to chasing chickens and herding the kids. We were asked to find her a home where her needs would be met!
She’s on the smaller side, about 15-18 months old, spry, loving, gorgeous and ready for obedience classes, and then who knows? She’s desperate for love, and we’re going to do our best to find her the perfect home. Fostered in Grass Valley.
Larry and Deborah, their 2 sons and Pip, (adopted 2012) came to meet Scarlet and fell in love. So off she went to Oakland to start her new life! She’ll have obedience classes, hikes in open space and lots of fun!

Milo NCAR Pup #62
Milo is a Marysville Craigslist Rescue. I convinced his owner (2nd owner!) to let us take him and find him a great home. He’s a loving, darling, 8-month-old, miniature red tri boy – just as sweet as pie. Apparently he was put on Craigslist for sale twice. Neither of his previous homes had “time for him” anymore, and NEVER took him to a vet.
We had him neutered, got him up-to-date on shots and he’s healthy, happy and loving life! He lived with a 7-year-old son, a cat and seems to love everyone he meets. What a cutie!

Toby
Toby is a 4-year-old blue merle girl who was rescued about 6 months ago. She lived with a family with children prior to landing in a shelter due to a home foreclosure. Toby knows sit, heel, stay, shake and touch it. Shes shy, prefers women to men, great with a 2-year-old child, OK in the house alone and likes car rides. She will bolt out a door if it is opened even a littleso even though shes good with kids, its best if she lives in a home where the kids are old enough to keep the door closed!
Toby is scared of sudden movements or sounds. Shes also very afraid of the man in the home and wont let him touch her.this is causing everyone a lot of stress. Toby is smart, likes to run, is loyal and loving. Toby is in Sacramento. Application required.
