Sebastian NCAR #133
Romi, Shadow, Sallee and Sebby |
Sebby lives with Sallee, Romi and Shadow. He has found three "special" napping places all his own, and loves to run to the fence with his brothers to see who is coming to visit. Sebby is a lucky boy! He's smiling all day long.
Sebby is a sweet 9 to 10 year old black tri who was a stray picked up by the
Sacramento County Animal Shelter. He passed the shelter's
temperament testing, but because there were many puppies
and younger dogs there, we thought he might languish,
so we brought him into rescue as soon as possible. He
comes when called, knows sit and lie down.
Sebby is a small male, has put on a few pounds and
now weighs 42 pounds. He doesn't jump up, is interested
in what's going on, but doesn't want to be in the middle
of it. He was a trooper at the vets when she removed
3 subcutaneous foxtails from his neck area and removed
another one from his ear. This is a calm boy who crates
himself when he wants to take a nap. He loves running
with dogs at the dog park and enjoys his walks. He's
a jewel of an Aussie! Fostered in Sacramento.

Whitney NCAR #125
Whitney & Winston |
Whitney is living with Winston, a young blue merle in Roseville. She has
three children and two adults who adore her and Winston thinks she's pretty
cool, too!
Whitney is an 11 month old, high energy black tri. Although she operates at
high speed, she is able to turn it off and snuggle for belly rubs! She is
food motivated, which is great news for her next owner who will be training
her. She's quick, agile, coordinated and very smart. She's playful with
other dogs and she loves to fetch a tennis ball or anything you throw! She's
gorgeous, with liquid brown eyes, a shiny black coat that feels like silk,
with deep copper and lots of white. She's on the small side.
See Whitney Fetch [115 KB]
Whitney has tons of personality and has a soft heart. She is strong-willed,
but it hurts her feelings if you are angry with her. Kindness, limits and
consistency work best for her. She has adjusted very well to the many
different dogs she has been living with. She is quick to find play
companions and loves lying in the wading pool. Though she is smart and high
energy (probably because she's so young), she spends lots of time lying at
her foster momo's feet or leaning against her to get pets. She's been great
with kids over age 10, giving them kisses and crawling all over them.
Whitney is a fabulous little Aussie who needs a savvy person who is
committed to giving her training and guidance. Fostered in Sacramento.

River NCAR #145
River lives with her new family in Los Gatos where she gets lots of exercise
and trips to the beach! She has taken to both children and is soaking up all
the love they give her!
River is a 3 year old female black tri. Her owners were forced to move to a
new home where they could no longer keep her, River is a pedigreed Aussie
who likes children, knows basic commands and worked sheep, although not as
well as her owners had hoped! She is a happy girl who has lived with cats
and seems to like other dogs. She could be an only dog, but her people would
need to play with her and give her plenty of stimulation. She could also
live with another playful dog. Although she's a small-framed girl, she is a
bit overweight due to inactivity over the past 8 months. River is up to date
on her shots and will make a lovely family companion. Fostered in
Sacramento.

Lizzy
Lizzy is an 11 month old female Aussie mix. Her blue merle coat is fairly short and her eyes are blue. She has her tail and is proud of it! She is fine with other dogs, is fairly good on a leash and has pretty decent manners for such a young girl. She calms down nicely after exercise and play and will do well in a family with older children. She is bright, so a basic obedience course will do wonders. Fostered near Fresno at Noahs Friends Animal Sanctuary www.noahandfriends.org. Contact: Teri at rescueddot@sbcglobal.net

Angel NCAR #128
Angel and Dingo |
Angel is a beautiful 2 year old red merle girl with a long, fluffy tail.
Angel is a dominant girl who would do best with a male dog, or a very
non-confrontational female. She really prefers another Aussie. Angel is a
smiler - she has an adorable full mouth grin that is very, very cute! She is
sweet, on the smaller side and full of energy. She is housebroken and crate
trained, but needs training. Angel was not raised hearing the word "NO" and
needs an experienced owner who will give her training, structure and lots of
attention. She likes to play with her toys, plays fetch but doesn't always
bring it back, and loves to run around fast!
See her play fetch with Logan! [105 KB]
Angel is quite loving and likes to learn. She would do well in an adult-only
home where someone experienced will take the time to take her through
obedience and possibly agility training. This is a young, fun girl that
deserves someone who can manage her spirit and energy.
Fostered in Brentwood, near Martinez. Contact Kim Kuenlen at kim@norcalaussierescue.com.

Solei
Solei is a spayed female, red merle two year old Australian Shepherd. She weighs about 40 pounds. Solei is a special needs dog. She was rescued in June of 2001 from the Placerville Shelter. Solei has some neurological damage that causes her to circle to the right when she is excited or upset. She is only semi-housebroken and has some depth perception problems in her left eye. We have taken her to a neurologist who said she probably suffered an injury to the right side of her brain when she was fairly young. She is very happy and loves to play with other dogs in her foster home. She will occasionally bark at the cat, but doesnt chase it. She is affectionate and loving once she gets to know people. She is possessive with her food, so needs to be fed separately. She likes to herd and nip and in that regard she is very much
an Aussie. Her foster family is working on modifying that behavior. Contact: Abbie Reiten reiten@sbcglobal.net

Herman
Herman is a 14 month old black tri. Hes 55 pounds and current on his
vaccinations. This is a high energy boy who is VERY loving, but has no
training. He likes to jump up on you, but can be corrected. Hes smart and
the vet thought he was a nice temperament and ok with older children and
other dogs. He is house broken. He's great with all the other dogs in his
foster home. He does want to chase the cat, but it's not aggressive. He's
great on a leash using a pinch collar and he'll be trained on a gentle
leader soon. Herman could easily get into agility or flyball. We think he's
a handsome boy! The owner moved to LA, so the Milo Foundation is fostering
him in San Francisco.

Oso
Oso and his new family |
Oso is living with Ken and his young family in San Jose. Ken works from home
and expects Oso to be at his side most of the time. Lucky Oso!
URGENT! Oso is a very sweet med/small (35lbs) Aussie mix boy who loves
children and other dogs. Oso had a family of his own with small children
ages 3 & 4 years old and was happy to be a part of a family for his 6 years,
he loves to get down on his front paws while sticking his little butt in the
air , just his way of saying "come on lets play", until one day he watched
his family pack up their belongings and drive away while he watched. After
that he lived out of dumpsters and lived on the streets surviving the best
he could. Debra, a local woman watched him every day as he struggled to
survive and one day took him into her home and has given him comfort.
Unfortunately, she is disabled and has a assistance dog of her own and is
not allowed to have another dog. Since rescuing Oso, she has had all his
shots updated and tested for heartworm which was negative. He is also
neutered, in good health and has had his teeth cleaned in the past year. Oso
is happy and well behaved in a home and is happy in a yard as well with
moderate play time. He is a cutie-pie and looks like a little fluffy teddy
bear, Oso would do well in any home that he does not have to share with
cats. If you are interested in helping Debra and Oso, please contact Kim at
kim@norcalaussierescue.com.

Neo
Neo, Christine and Michelle |
Neo is living with Christine and Michelle in San Jose. They can be with him almost 24/7 and will start puppy obedience classes in a few weeks. They will take Neo with them almost everywhere to socialize this little man!
|
Neo is a 12 week old, neutered male pup who was rescued by Sacramento Area Animal Coalition. Professionals think he may be part Border Collie and part hunting dog, but we can't be sure... he could be a mix of many breeds. He's calm, very smart and self-assured. He knows sit and High 5! He's a nice pup, and we'd like to find a great home for him asap. Neo is in Sacramento.
