Louis
This
handsome boy was a stray picked up by the Haven Humane
Society in Redding. Louis is approximately 8-9 years
old, and tested positive for Heartworm. The shelter
raised enough money for his treatment and he's being
fostered by a shelter volunteer! He's an exceptionally
nice boy who LOVES kids! He lives with an 11 year old
girl right now and when he sees kids he is so gentle.
He is just a sweet sweet dog.
If you can adopt him before the holidays, that would
help out the shelter because they are filling up and
staff are taking dogs home. This is a great Aussie boy!
You can arrange to meet this gentle soul by contacting
Michelle or Sandy at the shelter. He is an easy going
gentleman! Located in Redding.
Haven Humane Society, Phone: 530-241-1653.

Sadie NCAR #150
Sadie's mom of 9 years became ill and asked us if we
would find a terrific home for her Sadie girl. Sadie's
been in foster care since 10/22 and has adjusted beautifully,
and has shown she is a loving, playful and sweet girl.
Sadie gets along beautifully with the 1 year old male
and 3 year old female Aussies in the house. She bonded
quickly with her foster mom and also with
her foster dad. She should bond easily with her forever
owner. She never jumps up on people and never gets on
the furniture (except for the bed, which only needs
a little coaxing).
She loves toys, especially rope toys for tug of war,
and playing ball. She has been getting along
better with the cats in the house but still needs to
be monitored around them. She crates easily and does
well travelling in the crate. She has a lot of energy
but can also be very happy lying at your feet. She came
home from the groomer with a beautiful soft fluffy coat
and a glowing report of how nice she was to everyone
and how well she got along with all the different dogs
there. Sadie is an exceptionally beautiful blue merle
and in terrific shape. She's only about 45 pounds, spry
and has a non-stop wiggle butt! Older children OK. Fostered
in Concord. Contact: Kim at kim@norcalaussierescue.com

Whiskey NCAR #156
Rusty and his Family |
Whiskey is now named Rusty!
Whiskey was a stray that stayed in the Napa Animal Shelter
almost 3 weeks hoping his owner would come for him. He's
now neutered, up to date on his shots and ready for adoption.
He's very people oriented, but really doesn't seem socialized
with other dogs. Whiskey knows sit, shake, down, crates
well, loves to ride in the truck and plays ball. Still
working on "off". Definitely people oriented.
Wants to be a velcro dog! This boy is young and will need
an owner who is experienced in dog training. Thankfully,
Whiskey has a really friendly disposition. His coat is
really thick and he'll need someone who enjoys grooming
him as much as he enjoys being groomed! He lies down and
relaxes during his brushings! Fostered in Napa.

Max NCAR #152
Max is a nine year old blue merle boy with the swetest
of temperaments. His favorite things to do are getting
his tummy rubbed and eating dog cookies. As he weighs
about 75 pounds, we're limiting the number of cookies!
Max's owner was devastated to give up his dog, but was
going through some severe personal troubles and just couldn't
care for Max so he is being fostered in Brentwood where
his foster mom has fallen in love with him. He gets along
fine with other dogs and is good with kids. He's actually
afraid of cats, so will leave them alone! Contact: Kim

BLUE
Blue and Family |
Blue is living on 2500 acres in the Sonoma Valley with 4 mini dachshunds.
Blue is a 9 month old Blue Merle Aussie - Border Collie mix. He is sweet
natured, energetic and needs a job and/or more exercise than his mom of 5
months can give him. She rescued him from a neighbor's home where he was
getting neglected on the verge of abused. Blue is a great boy who can calm
down easily after play, and happily jumps in his crate to sleep at night.
Blue loves to play fetch! We believe Blue will make a great agility or
possibly herding dog, but most importantly, he's a nice, fun companion for
active owners who want to spend their free time doing activities with him!
If you're interested in meeting this nice boy, please submit an adoption
application. Located in in Rocklin.

Quinton
Larissa with ARPH and Aussie/Border Collie Rescue of Northern CA is looking for a great home for Quinton. Here's the story:
I pulled a very nice Border Collie/springer mix from Calaveras Animal Control in August that was pregnant. She had 5 puppies - all have been adopted except one. Quinton (aka Lil' Jedi) is showing incredible potential and I'm really holding out for a home that will give him a job to do (obedience/flyball/agility/etc). He is 8 weeks old and very well socialized. I took him to the ASCA Nationals last week and he was fantastic - he walks on a leash, sleeps through the night in his crate, rides beautifully in the car, is well on his way to being housebroken and is very attentive and focused. For example, after only 1 night, Quinton was running up the stairs at our hotel and would run ahead and pick out the door to our hotel room! Quinton's mom is a very agile girl with the head of a springer spaniel and the body and movement of a border collie.
If anyone qualified is looking for a nice mix pup that will put his incredible potential to good use, please have them contact me tonytgr@volcano.net or 209-223-0981 for an application. Quinton has started his puppy vaccinations and will require a $70 neuter deposit that is completely refundable upon proof of neuter. Located in Jackson, CA.

Nickel and Chance who are loving life in Pleasant Hill!
Chance is a 9 year old neutered male looking for a new
home. This boy is a brainiac, he knows: Shake hands, lie

soft speak, nose down, that's not speak, that's not roll
over! He even picks up socks and puts them in the laundry!
He was raised with small children and cats, and is a nice,
gentle Aussie who is typically cool to strangers, but
warms up quickly. He's a big boy at 70 pounds and can

Cody NCAR ID #151
Cody lives in Davis with his new family with four children whom he adores!
Cody is the fifth "child" and loving it!
Cody (formerly Fletcher) is a calm, beautiful 12 - 18
month old black tri who was picked up as a stray by the
Stockton Animal Shelter. He passed the shelter's temperament
testing with flying colors, and is even OK with cats.
He's underweight at 38 pounds and will be neutered once
he gains a few pounds. He's sweet, easy on a leash and
seems to be experiencing a lot of things for the first
time. We had to lift him into the crate in the car, but
once he was in it, he folded his front paws and enjoyed
the ride. He gives kisses and loves treats. He corrected
easily when he looked up on the counter. This is a mild
boy who will do with gentle training and lots of love.
Fostered in Woodland. Contact: Kim at kim@norcalaussierescue.com
