Iggy

Blue

Iggy and Blue, NCAR #
Iggy and Blue are wonderful, blue merle Border Collies whose owner boarded them with a veterinarian in November, and is unable to take them back. We have been asked to find them a great home...together!

Iggy is a 6 year old male, and Blue is a 10 year old female and they spent their earlier years in Costa Rica hanging out on the beach while their owner taught wind surfing. They've been around all sorts of people and dogs, and have lived with a cat.

They are healthy, smart, Frisbee-loving Border Collies who deserve a wonderful home. Contact: Kim at kim@norcalaussierescue.com

Annie, NCAR #264

Annie (now Sandy) lives with Jon, Shannon and Patrick, their 3 year old son. Sandy plays nicely with Patch, her pretty Aussie sibling who the family previously adopted from us.

This pretty red merle girl is a little shy, but warms up nicely. We think she's about 2 years old. We just pulled her from the Yolo County shelter 12/16 and are still getting to know her. She is playing nicely with the other Aussies, but still has kennel cough so we're trying to keep her quiet! She seems very sweet and mild tempered so far. Fostered in Sacramento Contact: Kim at kim@norcalaussierescue.com

***ADOPTED 12/28***

Jake

Jake lives in Atascadero with his new brothers Fletcher and Wagner. They are all getting along swimmingly! Jake is far right.

This wonderful 9 or 10 year old boy is looking for a new home. He is a big boy and very, very sweet. Jake is very gentle, walks on a leash, and sits on command. Jake gets along great with other dogs as he is submissive.

We recently had Jake neutered and he's up to date on his vaccinations. Jake is fearful of loud noises and fireworks. The ranchers around his home have been setting off bird bombs on a regular basis and so Jake was given tranquilizers. We have moved him to a quiet foster home in Red Bluff where he's doing great and is a welcome house guest! Contact: Kim at kim@norcalaussierescue.com

***ADOPTED 12/22***

Bob, NCAR #261

Odie, Kathleen, Eric, Alec and Olivia
Bob, now Odie is having a great time with Kathleen, Eric, Alec and Olivia. He is as Kathleen says, "the PERFECT" family member. Here's Odie and his family at Sequoia National Park. He loves the car, the snow and the beach... who doesn't??

Bob is a pretty boy who ended up in the Salinas Shelter. He's a wiggle butt and loves to meet new people. He's good with other dogs and now lives fine with cats! He's on the submissive side, rides well in the car and seems like an all around nice Aussie who seems to like children. Fostered in Oakland. Contact Kim at kim@norcalaussierescue.com

Stubby
Stubby is a Cattle Dog mix that was brought to our shelter by a couple who found him abandoned in their neighborhood. He was very scared when first found and avoided all contact with humans. But, after being fed and provided with a kennel, Stubby warmed up by the next morning and was wagging his tail and licking hands. Stubby does not appear to have been obedience trained, but he is a very quick learner and has arleady picked up a few commands. Stubby is a very nice dog who hasn't had the advantage of a good home up to this point.

Rescued by the Milo Foundation, Berkely. Contact milo@pacific.net or visit www.milofoundation.org

Sadie Marie
Sadie Marie is a two year old female that weighs about 40 pounds. She didn't get along with the female Pitbull in her family, so she was surrendered to the Lompoc Shelter. Sadie is a wonderful dog! She walks well on lead, loves her ball, camping and swimming. She is crate trained and sleeps in one at night. Left outside during the day when nobody is home. No reports of bites on humans but is dog aggressive. She gets along with cats and loves kids. Owner says that her household is busy and active (2 kids 10 & 12) with lots of visitors and that Sadie is excited and friendly with the visitors. She has a solid recall and is a confused/scared Velcro Aussie. Contact Dave Swinson at 805-934-1645 or Topaussies@msn.com.

***Rescued by Sadie's Breeder***
IVY

Ivy lives with her new family in Los Gatos. She is already soaking up all the attention and will start puppy obedience classes soon!

Ivy is a darling, sweet and playful 12-14 week old pup with her long, silky coat and docked tail. She came in the night drop box with her sister who was immediately adopted. Ivy was in sick bay at the Sacramento County Shelter because she had a broken foot.

Our terrific vets at Sacramento Animal Hospital took X Rays and determined that all 4 toes were broken and started healing improperly. So...Ivy had surgery on 11/18 and should be good as new in about 8 weeks. The surgeon thought she was between 3 and 4 months old. She's very tiny, so she may even be a mini Aussie or mini Aussie mix. One thing is for certain, she was a favorite at the vet hospital!

If you'd like to help with Ivy's surgery, please donate via Paypal or mail a check to NCAR, PO Box 191661, Sacramento, CA, 95819. Fostered in Sacramento. Contact: Kim at kim@norcalaussierescue.com

Tess NCAR #234

BJ, Eleanor and Tess
Tess is living in Magalia with Eleanor and her 15 year old Aussie, BJ. Tess is enjoying the attention she's getting both from Eleanor and BJ!

Tess is an 8 or 9 year old sweet black tri who was picked up by Stockton Animal Control. She had recently given birth and had a long term battle with fleas. Now that she's cleaned up and on medication, her coat is coming back.

She's very spry and is your typical Velcro Aussie. She's a small working Aussie at about 40 pounds who is cute as a bug's ear, very biddable, and easy to handle. She does like to run and chase other dogs, but doesn't fetch. She's spayed, completely healthy and ready for a home of her own. Fostered in Sacramento. Contact Kim at kim@norcalaussierescue.com.

***ADOPTED 12/13***
Trouble
Trouble will be 1 year old on December 6. He's a lovely black tri who has had lots of training and grew up with a 2 year old. Unfortunately, he's gotten away with nipping at her on occasion, and so we are finding him a new home. He would do fine with older children and in a home where he will get leadership. He's a good boy and sweet tempered. He's lived with cats, too! We also are thinking of a new name for him! In Sacramento. Contact: Kim at kim@norcalaussierescue.com

Andre and Pepper

Pepper
Andre fell for Pepper the first time he saw her at the Sacramento County Animal Shelter. Unfortunately, she flunked temperament testing and was deemed "unsocial" because she barked at everyone who came near her cage. Heartbroken, Andre called me for help. I met him at the shelter and went into Pepper's kennel, put a leash on her and off to the play yard we went. She tested beautifully, so I rescued her and brought her home where she played with many other Aussies. She is happily living with Andre and his family.

***ADOPTED 12/3***

Penny is living in Salinas with Karen and her new sister, Mini. Karen has taken Mini (a very fast Border Collie) through agility training ~ now it's Penny's turn!

Penny NCAR #224
Penny is a tiny, timid, red tri mini Aussie girl. She's 20 pounds, with a light coat that may come in thicker with maturity. She will be two in May, '06 and is a nervous nelly...but very smart and food motivated, so should train easily. Penny is loving and devoted to her person, although she's learned she can get away with not coming when called! She would do best not babied, although she's really is a cuddle bug.

She lived as an only dog her whole life, and spent long days waiting for her owners to come home. She's soaking up all the attention in foster care and doing OK living with 8 standard Aussies! She's eating like a small horse, so she's gained a bit in foster care! She loves people, although howls and barks when strangers come into the house. But she does love petting and likes to sleep nestled next to her foster mom. She would probably be happiest as an only companion to someone, but has proven that she can live with other dogs of all ages, including two tiny 7 week old puppies! Fostered in Sacramento. Contact: Kim at kim@norcalaussierescue.com

***ADOPTED 12/2/05***
Luna
Luna found a great home with a woman in Washoe County, Nevada, who is experienced with dogs. Luna will be mostly an inside with her new owner.

Luna is a young husky/shepherd mix who is shy and sweet, with beautiful soulful blue eyes. She was abandoned with Wylie when her owners were arrested! They lived on the lam for more than a year with the help of some good samaritans who fed them. You can read all about her at Luna and Wylie's story. She is devoted to Wylie (whom she was found with) but isn't so sure of other dogs, at least at first.

Wylie has been adopted and now it's Luna's turn. Luna is being fostered by Doggy Day Care in Reno. If you are interested in Luna, please contact Connie with WARF at 775-831-1730 to submit your application, or call Tim at Doggy Day Care at 775-825-3647.

***ADOPTED***
Lucy
Lucy is a 3 year old, slightly timid Aussie girl. She's a small, pretty Blue Merle who weighs only 30 pounds and is used to daily running exercise. She's used to going on trail rides with her mom and follows along nicely and never strays. She is also comfortable spending time in her crate where she can see what's going on. She's timid with strangers and doesn't like loud noises, so a quiet, adult home would be best for Lucy. She lives on a 2 acre ranch and loves to run, run, run! She also lives part time in a condo at Lake Tahoe where she isn't happy because the noises in the hallway or next door make her nervous. She loves toys, going to the stables, hiking and trail riding with her mom. She is being rehomed because she is dominating the 14 year old Yorkie in her household and has nipped her a few times. She plays with other dogs nicely, but seems to dominate this senior, small Yorkie. It's very difficult for her mom to let her go, but she feels it's the right thing to do. Contact Kim at kim@norcalaussierescue.com .

***ADOPTED***

Madison or MADDY
Madison is a pretty red tri who will be six years old on January 12, 2006. She was bought from Peacock Aussies as a pup and is up to date on all her vaccinations.

She acts really aggressively when strangers approach her as she's on a leash walk. She seems to do better off leash on the beach or in a park. So urban living is out for Maddy!

She's very loving and we need to find her a home soon. She loves playing with other dogs and loves car rides. She LOVES playing in water anywhere...anytime! She's a bit overweight right now, but other than that, in perfect health! She lives in Newport Beach and since she loves the water, another home where she has access to water would be great! Her owner is moving and can't take her with her. Contact Kim at kim@norcalaussierescue.com.
