Boris and Family

Boris is 3 years old and we're told is Mack's father. They were both confiscated by Yolo County officials from a dreadful living situation. Some of the animals found on the property did not make it.

Boris (Bo for short) is probably an Aussie-Setter-Lab mix and weighs around 65 lbs. He's very friendly, outgoing, responsive and attentive with people. He is a dominant male who isn't fond of intact male dogs, but does fine with all female dogs and all our neutered male dogs.

He needs plenty of time to bond to his new person and surroundings. He just wants to hang out either inside our out as long as he knows he's at HIS home. If he's left in unfamiliar surroundings alone too long in he will bark and look for a way out. Even if he finds a way out, he hangs out on the front lawn waiting for his person to return. He's fine in the house and in the car. He is obedient, loving and will make a wonderful companion. We have seen he's afraid of small children and will hide....so kids over 12 are fine. He slept right next to the bed and likes being indoors as well as outdoors. He's pretty easy on a leash and all in all, a very "undemanding" dog. He can be placed with Mack or on his own, but for Mack's sake, it would be nice if they wee placed in a home together. Fostered in Grass Valley.

Luke NCAR#360
Luke is a fun 18-month old blue merle. This boy is incredibly smart and agile. He is determined, smart, confident and did I mention agile? He SAILS over my 3 1/2 foot gate...what grace!

This boy is too much for small children, but dog savvy kids over 12 are just fine. The ideal home for Luke is with experienced Aussie handlers who run or hike a lot and will offer enough stimulation for this active, highly trainable Aussie boy. Luke can wrestle and play for hours with my Dollie, with Finn and tempers his play with Pippin and little dogs. So living with a playful, nice Aussie would be a plus!

Red and Bluejean are approximately 6 year old female miniature Aussies. Their Red's former life was horrendous and they are hoping to start over again in a new loving home where they can forget the past and live the life they deserves! Knuckles
Knuckles is a 6 mo old blue merle aussie with a docked tail. This pup has to be the best foster dog I have ever had. He is housetrained, crate trained (sleeps in his crate all night) loves to ride in the car and is dog and cat friendly. One of his best characteristics, he adores my 4 yr old son and my non-dog lover son has finally found a pup that he likes to interact with. Knuckles does not jump up nor herd him, he plays very nicely. Upon his vet exam we found that at some point in the past Knuckles has had a broken hip that has healed on its own, but he may develop arthritis as he gets older. That being said he would not be a candidate for agility.

Knuckles is a low energy aussie pup, loves to play tug of war with out other dog and wrestles with her. he enjoys going for walks and went on a week camping trip with us and was never leashed he does not wander. This pup will make an awesome family dog.

6/26: Update on Knuckles We have found that in the past 6 weeks that we have been fostering Knuckles he has been unable to properly digest dry dog food. We have tried different brands all resulting in diarrhea. Finally we had a break thru, we put Knuckles on a raw meat diet and his stool is normal. After discussing this with our vet today, we came to the conclusion that Knuckles has an allergic reaction to grain and grain mites.

He will need to remain on raw food, if you are interested in pursuing the adoption interest please get back to me and if a raw meat diet is just to much for you I understand. Thank you.

Lulu
Lulu is about 8 lbs and a short-haired Chihuahua/Terrier mix. Lulu thinks she is much bigger than her 8 lbs and can handle her own with 2 large dogs (an Aussie that is 62 lbs and a black lab who is also 60 lbs) as well as 4 indoor cats. She really wants a lap she can call her own and will curl up on any available lap. She's fully house broken as well as fully crate trained. She isn't a barker at all (which if anyone knows small dogs that is usually the case).

Lulu loves to run around a yard and plays happily with my black lab mix (Remi) and is very cautious of being underfoot. She isn't darty and would make a great companion for a single woman or older couple who is home more than the younger working couples. Also would be a great "go-to-work" dog since she is so quiet.
