Bandit
 Bandit with Adele! |
Adele says Bandit is PERFECT! I think Bandit might
agree...
Bandit is a darling, 40 pound, Blue Merle girl. She's 7 years old. Her
family is moving out of the country and asked us to find her a great new
home. She's more of an inside girl, has lived with a cat and a dog, likes
going on walks and is a moderately active Aussie. She likes car rides,
meeting strangers and likes children. This is a nicely trained, lovable
girl. Her coat has been shaved down in this photo and should grow back.
Bandit is in Castro Valley.

Macie
NCAR #284
Macie is a 15 month old blue merle with her long, fluffy
and gorgeous tail. It's quite a plume! She is fun, energetic
and about as typical as an adolescent Aussie gets. She's
been in two homes already, slept inside, lived with
a cat and a 12 year old child. She would benefit greatly
from an obedience class and an owner who would teach
her some simple manners and commands. She's all over
the place on a leash, but great at the dog park!
Someone debarked Macie, but she still has a bark. She's
about 44 lbs and has a very nice temperament. Fostered
in San Leandro. Contact: Kim at kim@norcalaussierescue.com

Demi
NCAR # 259
Demi is a 2-4 year old mini black tri Aussie. She came
in the night box at the Sacramento County shelter with
no information. She was completely petrified and ran
away from me in the play yard. I had to step on her
leash to catch her. When I cornered her she gave up
and seemed relieved not to have to run anymore.
I held her in my lap and touched her all over, even
checked her teeth. I let her go, but she didn't jump
out of my lap....just stayed and looked away. At 20
pounds, she could have stayed in my lap for hours! Demi
is a project - but we've rescued timid dogs like this
before and they can become loyal, sweet and affectionate
dogs.
Demi nipped at a young boy and is not too sure of most
men. She loves most women and loved to cuddle with an
8 year old girl, but still needs plenty of time to warm
up. She can be cuddly and likes to sleep in bed next
to me. She likes other sweet dogs and will play with
the young ones.
She ignores cats. Demi was probably bred often, lived
outside and had zero interaction with humans. She needs
a very patient person who will teach her to trust. No
small children under 12. Fostered in Campbell. Contact:

Patches
Patches is a pretty 2 year old blue merle with her long, fluffy tail. She is
very shy with new people, but warms up in time. She plays well with smaller
dogs and loves attention once she knows the people. She doesn't seem to mind
cats, but she hasn't been around them much. She's relatively quiet and easy
going. Patches has a nice pedigree as well as a nice temperament. Her tail
was intentially left long.
We need to rehome her because she resource guards her toys and food against
other dogs and toddlers. She'd do best in an adult home with no other dogs.
She is spayed and utd on her shots. Patches is in Marysville.

Chase
Chase lives in Placerville where he'll have plenty of room to play soccer
with his new family.
This darling, male, blue merle with a tail was found
in Modesto. The person who found him is now fostering
him. He's a nice, smart boy who knows several commands.
She brought him to the shelter hoping his owner would
come for him, but when no one came after 5 days, we
pulled him.
He's already neutered and lives fine with a cat and
a 9 month old child. He is not destructive, likes the
water and will crate. He shows no separation anxiety
and is housebroken. He lets the baby crawl all over
him, is a bit protective of it and will alert strangers
who approach the baby. He loves to play fetch and loves
the soccer ball! Chase weighs about 45 lbs. Fostered
in Modesto. Contact Kim at kim@norcalaussierescue.com

Buddy, NCAR #271
Buddy lives with Jennifer and Aaron in Sparks, Nevada. Jennifer's parents who live nearby have Aussies and Buddy will be able to romp with them often.
Buddy is an 18-20 month old red merle who weighs 57
lbs. He is very loving and darling. Besides being gorgeous
and nicely put together, he has a genuine sweetness
about him. He is so deserving of a loving forever home
where his person is with him a lot. He could easily
hang out in an office! We will require that he go through
obedience training with his new owner as he can still
jump up to say hello or solicit pets. Buddy is a lovely
boy who will make a fabulous companion. He likes the
dog park and gently introduces himself to new dogs.
He will chase cats, so a cat free home is best.
He likes to fetch, and loves to run fast! He can easily
live with another dog, just as long as he gets the training
and attention he deserves. He may be a great candidate
for agility or flyball in time. He is VERY easy to handle,
responsive, quite sweet, very energetic and strong,
and trustworthy around older children who won't get
knocked over! This is a beautiful boy who we believe
would do best in a home familiar with Aussies where
he'd get continued training. Fostered in Sacramento.

Amy, NCAR #283
Amy lives near Georgetown with Barbara and Rugby, a 7 year old BC who seems
to enjoy Amy's effervescence!
Amy is a 6 month old black tri who is high energy, willfull,
confident and fun. She needs an experienced person to
provide strong leadership and give her training and
exposure to the world and she'll grow up to be a great
adult Aussie girl. She plays well and is sure of herself
with other dogs. This girl will roll right over meek
dogs.
Bought from a breeder at 8 weeks, Amy had the run of
the house and yard. She was given up because her owner
said he's too old to handle her, but the reality is
that he's too inexperienced to handle her. She can live
with a playful dog and a cat. She's a bit too much for
small children, but would be fine with sturdy, savvy
children 10 years or older. She ran like the wind for
1/2 hour at the dog park and came home and wanted more!
Fostered in Sacramento.

Shanti
Shanti is a gorgeous, blue merle girl who will be one year old on March 22. She was rescued from a neglectful living situation where she lived in a barren outdoor kennel with her father. Her rescuer was hoping she might make a good therapy dog as she's calm and sweet, but she lacks confidence and therefore is not suitable for such work. She's timid with new dogs, but will play nicely once she gets to know them. She responds well to treats offered by strangers and should continue socialization and desensitization in her new home.
She would do best with someone who can keep her near and not left in a yard all day. Shanti is still a puppy and needs chew toys and supervision! Good thing she's crate trained, makes things easier. She loves to go for walks in the park and really loves water. She behaves very well off-leash and stays close by. Shanti dislikes being yelled at and having her hindquarters grabbed - both scare her and she becomes highly submissive. She'll chase a cat, but only in play and will not harm it and lives with a cat presently. She's very bright and is doing well in the basic obedience training. She picks things up quickly and is eager to please. Shanti is in Chico. Contact Kim at kim@norcalaussierescue.com.
