Happy
This is an adorable, lovable Aussie that came in the night box. He's everyone's favorite at the shelter!

He is a 2-4 year old intact male black tri. He has an injury to his left rear leg - he walks on it, but is just unable to bend his knee. Staff feels he is very adoptable and will make him available to the public on 5/23. If he isn't adopted in one week, we will be able to bring him into rescue. This boy is AWESOME! Interested people should go to the Yolo County Animal Services. Contact Angela at 530-758-SPCA (7722) www.yolospca.org

Tucker
TUCKER NCAR #187 & MOOKIE NCAR #188
Mookie and Tucker are the two "new kids" on the block in Fair Oaks! They go on one or two long walks per day with Kathy and Jon and are soaking up the love.

Tucker and Mookie are adorable, sweet brothers we pulled from the Modesto Shelter. They are both black bi Aussies who are neutered and under 2 years old. They wandered into a mobile home park then taken to the Modesto Shelter where no one came for them. They both gave me kisses all the way home!

These boys are fabulous! They are living happily with 3 other Aussies, a cat and have made lots of friends wherever they go!

Tucker is very friendly and leans in to give kisses and get hugs. At 60 pounds, he's bigger than his brother Mook and is noticably more calm and confident. He loves his brother and grooms and plays with him! We're certain Tucker decided to leave home and Mookie followed. Tucker is learning quickly now that he realizes food comes when he sits or stays! He's becoming a great student! Tucker is playful with other dogs and seems to like the cat in his foster home. Fostered in Santa Rosa.

Mookie
Mookie is sweet, lovey and a little shy. HE SMILES! He doesn't take the lead cause he'd rather follow his brother Tucker! He's about 50 pounds and really cute. He gives kisses when you ask him to, but he isn't forward about it! He is learning to walk on a lead and takes to training a little easier than his brother. He likes the cat in his foster home. He's playful with the other dogs, likes the cat and adores his brother.

Bosco
Bosco is a one year old, neutered, black tri male aussie with a full tail. He's current on shots, micro-chipped and is healthy. He loves kids of all ages, is good with other dog and cats. He's housebroken and crate trained. He loves to chase the ball and then play "keep away" with you. Oh and he loves water! This guy could go anywhere and do anything with you, he's great in the car and loves to go. This guy is still a puppy with lots of puppy energy. He's fostered in Sonora, CA. Jasper, NCAR #189
Jasper is an adorable 15-18 month old mini red tri. He's a Velcro Aussie who weighs just 30 pounds. Jasper and his brother were strays at Haven Humane in Redding, and his brother was adopted right from the shelter by one of our applicants - hooray! Jasper wants to meet everyone - child, man or woman! He usually puts his paws up soliciting pets, so we're working on that. He likes to chase and bark at running dogs and is way too interested in cats! He hasn't really shown interest in playing with other dogs, but he likes to run with them at the dog park. If they bark loudly or approach him too fast, he doesn't like it and will act aggressively. He does best with female dogs and very docile males...but this boy would be absolutely thrilled to be an only dog soaking up everyone's attention! He will fetch a tennis ball and is trustworthy in the house and yard alone. He flies through the doggie door, is housebroken, sleeps next to my bed and has come a long way since coming home from the shelter. Fostered in Sacramento. Contact: Kim at kim@norcalaussierescue.com

Shasta
Shasta and his brother Jasper (above) were stray mini Aussies. When we told Brian about Shasta, he drove from Oakland to the shelter in Redding to adopt him! Brian and Shasta go jogging, camping and just about everywhere together!

Rocky NCAR #173
Rocky lives with Bruce in Antioch where he goes on walks and plays with his Border Collie sister, Cowgal!

Rocky is a small and energetic 3-year old black tri. He was purchased for a daughter who went away to college. The parents reluctantly kept him and from what we've been told, were extremely harsh on the poor pup. They got divorced and just 4 months ago, gave him away to a young, disabled single mom who got in way over her head. Rocky needed and deserved more than his new mom could give him and contacted us to help.

Rocky's had no formal training and very little socialization with strangers. He's a sweet, shy boy who barks at some strangers and is reluctant to greet them. He needs to learn that strangers won't hurt him which will take lots of time and patience. He does, however have great "doggy language" and could go to a dog park to get exercise. We believe an experienced, quiet home without children is needed for Rocky. He needs reassurance and gradual exposure to new environments along with continued positive training. He is a deserving cuddle bug! Fostered in Brentwood. Contact: Kim at kim@norcalaussierescue.com

***ADOPTED 5/14/05***
Scotty, NCAR #163
Sue and Bill with Scotty. They wrote, "Scotty is a wonderful boy! He was good as gold on the ride home. Settled in on his dog bed in our bedroom the first night and slept the whole night through. He knows a lot of commands but I am still going to enroll us in a dog obedience class. Scotty already has our hearts. Thank you for bringing him into our lives."

Scotty is a darling 18 month to 2 year old neutered black bi. Someone loved this boy cause he's all smiles, wiggles and happiness. He was a stray into the Sacramento County shelter, but no one claimed him. He was having fun with his bunk mate in the kennel, and gets along famously with every dog he meets, big or small. He knows sit, comes when we whistle and just seems like a terrific boy! We haven't tested him with cats yet. He's not mouthy and should be fine with children. This is one of the nicest boys you'll ever meet. Fostered in Sacramento. Contact: Kim at kim@norcalaussierescue.com

Smokey
Smokey is a 7 month old double merle who came in through the night box at the Sacramento County Shelter. We found him to be gentle, smart, deaf and eager to learn. We adopted him to a family with hearing impaired parents. Georgia, the mom and I spent 4 hours evaluating the puppy - with a lot of note writing!

Here's an update from Smokey's mom after 3 days in his new home: "Smokey seems fine and is mellow and knows where his home is. He has learned 6 sign words already! Finally he sits, lies down and knows walk, cookie, bathroom, friend, all in sign! I took him to my work today and he seems good - he sat under my desk and was very calm. I will work on getting his Canine Companion certificate soon. He is very smart and a good boy."

***ADOPTED 5/10/05***

Sparky
This wonderful blue merle is a sweet heart! He's a gentle, sweetie that has his independent side , but also has his attentive, loving side. He loved getting brushed and talked to and he plays fetch nicely! He walks gently on his leash and would love to go on your daily walk with you. He's also showing us that he's house trained (although all dogs will need a day or two to adjust to their new routine). Sparky is a special soul that needs just the right new people to show him how much they love him. He'd love to get a nice massage from you! You can find Sparky in the main adoption run, in kennel A6.

Kim evaluated this boy and thinks he's between 8 and 10 years old. He is not deaf and is quite the lover boy once you get down on the ground with him! He rolled over sweetly for pets! He got along with the other dogs in the play yard.

Jackson
Jackson is a large (60+ lbs) male black tri aussie, appx. 4 yrs old with a beautiful, long coat. Don't let his stature fool you - this guy is a big, gentle teddy bear. He's a velcro dog that loves belly rubs, his toys, and quickly bonds to his person. He greets visitors with a wiggle-butt, is housebroken, and very trust worthy when left alone. Jax is also very reliable off leash and has learned several basic commands quickly. He has a moderate energy level for an aussie - he will get the 'zoomies' occasionally, but settles nicely. Jackson is neutered, on heartworm preventative, and up-to-date on all vaccinations. He is fostered in Jackson, CA - Please contact his foster home for an adoption application, Larissa Wood, tonytgr@volcano.net or call 209-223-0981

Bonnie

Bonnie is a sweet and affectionate 5 year old blue merle. She's spayed and up to date on her vaccines. She's a bit plump at the moment cause she was getting too many treats and not enough exercise! Her owner has reluctantly decided she is too old to give Bonnie the care she deserves and gave her up to us. Bonnie is playing nicely with the small dog in her foster home and is getting daily exercise. This is a nice girl who has lived with cats and dogs and loves people! From her overall demeanor, she seems she would be ok with older children. Contact Cyndi at cyndi@norcalaussierescue.com
